“We really enjoyed our time in The Rowan Tree. We had a beautifull room. It was clean, comfortable and the bed was great. The hotel itself is everything you expect from a hotel in the Highlands: the interior, the atmosphere, everything breathes Scottish hospitality. The staff was very friendly and capable. Both owners were friendly, helpfull and even special wishes were granted! The food is very tasty...and so on. If you want to visit the Spey Valley: this is the place to be!”
“I've got the liver patè, the venison and the toffee pudding. Everything was just delicious and the stuff was very welcoming too. Just a side note: the pudding portion was a little too big. Excellent drams in the bar. Very much reccomended”
“The service was superb! I mentioned the fact we were on honeymoon in an email and this was the only location that took note. We were greeted with a personal message from Alex F (duty manager) in our room and a very kind man at reception (sadly I forgot to take his name) as well as a chilled bottle of Prosecco and some beautiful tarts. I'm gluten free so couldn't eat but Ciara described the carrot cake tart as the best she has tasted as well as a lovely chocolate fudge brownie and cheesecake tarts. The location is fantastic, perfect for nature lovers or hill running enthusiasts- I relished doing a hill run every morning out the back up through Craigellachie nature reserve with our two dogs- just fabulous!Thank you folks for your great care.Walkability: Craigellachie Nature Reserve directly out the back is just fabulous for a hill run or a goodvwalk.Noteworthy details: Fabulous welcome for Honeymooners!! Great service.”
“I spent 2 nights in Aviemore. The rooms at Morlich Hotel at Macdonald Aviemore Resort are small, but comfortable. No more than 2 people per room and that's pushing it if you've got a lot of luggage. The bathroom and room were clean for my stay and I was satisfied with the service received. Be mindful in the dining room, steps are the same tile throughout the entire room so they are easy to miss. Definitely a tripping hazard.”
“Nice Hotel. Really friendly helpful staff. Loads of room to park my truck. Had to leave early so wouldn't have made breakfast but was offered a lunch bag to take with me instead. Thanks again for a great stay.”
“Stayed here for a couple of nights and what a lovely welcome we received. The lady on reception was very friendly and all the staff we interacted with pleasant.
It was a great place to be based to explore the Aviemore, which is an easy walk into the village and Cairngorm, which is easy to get to on the local bus.
We had a pitched that allowed us to have our van and awning up using heavy duty pegs.
The toilets & showers are clean and there are facilities indoors for washing dishes as well as washing machines and tumble dryer.
Will be back.”
