Small hotel lost facing Loch Ewe and the gardens of Inverewe. The welcome is friendly and family-friendly. The rooms are well maintained and the small family apartment was very comfortable. The food is decent, even if the service is not very fast. The bar is really very warm: we appreciated the atmosphere of regulars and the conviviality.

The two of us visited with high expectations travelling 7 miles from our holiday accommodation. We arrived at 7pm, the bar/restaurant was not busy. We ordered and paid for drinks then asked for menus, only to be informed they were not serving to non residents. The hotel clearly advertises bar food/good food on the board outside. We were sitting in the bar whilst food was being taken to an adjacent table. Staff were not busy. This is bad for reputation and for business. It is sad that the Poolewe Hotel is not welcoming to tourists and non residents.Food & drinks: As above

I tried to book a dinner table Sunday evening mid August, told they still had residents to come down, try again tomorrow.Tried again on the Monday, same story, bar staff suggested we book a table.Tuesday evening as we were passing tried to book for the Wednesday evening and only to be told they could only fit us in at 5pm.On the plus side found an amazing Jamaican restaurant in Gairloch.

Stayed for 4 nights this last weekend. The hotel is slightly dated and the rooms are basic, very clean and functionalThe whole hotel could do with some TLC.The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was pretty good. The setting overlooking loch ewe is excellent

We were staying at a Caravan & Camping Club site & were recommended to dine here. The first visit without food coincided with the '500' place was packed to rafters!Second visit after reserving our table for 8pm was something of a disappointment.Over cooked chips, under cooked peas, lukewarm mushroom soup & a server who was too keen to get on a Pool Table! She made this clear by spraying cleaner straight at our table. Answer? Don't take bookings after 7pm & not once did they ask how were we. Courtesy costs nothing, custom does.Noteworthy details: Only stay in the hotel! There are Rms 11-15 half net across window & curtains that don't fit.

Staff could do with some customer service development. Waited to be served and barman kept me waiting even though he could see I was there first but still proceeded to serve others which was disappointing. In general the hotel is ok inside in terms of decoration but I struggle to understand the cafe part as it was just a coffee machine behind the bar and only peanuts and crisps for sale and this was at 3.30pm.

Stunning location. Comfortable, clean, compact room with everything you need. Lovely breakfast and great service. Would definitely stay again.

Don't dare to go at 2:01 for food. They will turn you away although there are staff available and people who had just gotten their food. Someone also has their dog inside at a table with them that snarled and growled at us and no one seemed to care or correct the dog. The girl at the counter was more interested in flirting with the guys at the table than helping us.

Good location for Inverewe Garden. The room was smaller than the reviews suggested. Dinner was of good quality. Also breakfast was good.Rooms: Cramped twin room. Reviews led me to expect more space, and I was expecting a double, not a twin room.Nearby activities: Inverewe!Food & drinks: Excellent, but don't expect a gastro-pub. .

We didn't stay as guests, only had food. We called in Tuesday evening but they couldn't fit us in so we booked for Wednesday. On arrival we were dealt with swiftly and it wasn't long before the starter arrived, I can't remember the full title but it was haggis in pastry. It was very good, recommend, for mains I had Stilton pasta and my mate had fish and chips. The fish and chips were good so I was told bit I have to say, even though the taste was right, the Stilton sauce was too runny for the pasta in my opinion. I had rhubarb and raspberry crumble and my mate had the mango mouse. He said the mouse was a little dissapointing but the crumble was good. Poolewe pint was good. All in all I'd say 4 out of 5. Thanks though, the service was great.

We stayed in a fairly sizeable room in the annexe which was fine, functional but not much character. Nice views. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Good real ale on tap. Nice staff.
