While staying in a cottage close to the 1645 last year for a week, on our first night we went to the 1645 for our meal, it was difficult to decide what to eat as there were a few meals I fancied, and when it came it was delicious, server's were very friendly, we had our dog with us so were sitting in the bar, which was very comfortable and nice decor. We enjoyed our meal so much we revisted the restaurant another 3 times, and will definitely go back if we are up that way again.

Our room was small, but quite nice. I loved the color scheme. The only issue for improvement in our room would be the shower heater had some challenges and our room remained on the cool side even after the radiators were scheduled on. The bedding was warm, cozy and comfortable. The woman at reception was welcoming and showed us to our room. That was the last we saw of desk staff, but Charlie in the pub was eager to provide any assistance so I believe if there were any issues that we felt we really needed to be addressed, he would have made sure. My partner enjoyed a pint in the pub, also impressed with Charlie's friendliness.

Stayed in Room 1 for 4 nights. The room is small with only one stool other than the bed to sit on. I tightened the stool leg screws by hand! The big black mark however is the shower. It needs to be renamed "trickle". Was out visiting relatives so only ate Breakfast which was very good. All the staff were friendly and welcoming.

We stayed for one night and although the room was small (rm 11) it was immaculate and had lovely comfy beds. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We had dinner and breakfast and both were very good. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay here again.

The food was fantastic! ? I am wheat intolerant, usually the Gluten-free menu is quite limited for me, but not at The 1645 Inn! There was plenty to choose from! ? And the portions were very generous! Next time we will have to ask for smaller portions!Highly recommend this lovely hotel, not just for the food, but for the accommodation too! ??? I am a wheelchair user, everything was accessible for me... Top marks! ?All the staff were so nice as well, treat guests like family, nothing is too much bother for them an example of how caring the staff are, the waiter took our order, then promptly returned and said to me "aren't you gluten intolerant? Your meal includes battered onion rings..." I thanked him for being so observant and reassured him I had no intention of poisoning myself! - I was going to give them to my husband... When he returned with our food, he'd put my onion rings in a separate small dish, to avoid contaminating my food! ?Another time, at breakfast, I ordered porridge... The waiter (different young man from before) warned me that the oats are not the gluten-free kind! I thanked him for pointing it out, but assured him I'd be OK as I'm wheat-intolerant not gluten ?There's lots of little stories I could mention, every staff member was so kind We invited elderly relatives to join us for a meal on our last night, they too were impressed.Rooms: We stayed in an accessible room and it was great!Walkability: Hubby walked (me in my wheelchair) all the way to Nairn and back along the cycle path, lots of other walks around too.Food & drinks: Delicious ?

Stayed one night, the room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was quite dirty, there was hair all over the sink (likely from shaving), there was visible mould, it had a specific smell and you had to wait a while for the hot water in the shower.Breakfast was simple yet tasty and filling.Overall an OK value for money.

Very nice location. Great atmosfeer, Scottish breakfast was a bit disappointing, food was very tasty, but the portions where not value for money.

Ok as a bistro pub. Staff tried hard, but not enough to cope with large numbers, including an unexpected coach party. Meals adequate, but nothing special.
