Advice to visitors: if you want a meal, you won't get one here.We went one night and were told "kitchen's closed". Fair enough, we thought. The next night, Saturday, we returned. The same person as on Friday said "kitchen's closed". Bit early - it was quarter to seven. Then a chef immediately came out the door with a dish of food. The staff member hastily added "Pre-booked guests only". You could've told us that yesterday! But we'd predicted this and phoned the hotel to try and pre-book a table five times that day, and each time it rang for a bit then went to voicemail. We also tried the website, but you couldn't book a table at all, no matter the time or day - everything came up as unbookable. They can't seem to really be bothered, which is a shame. This is an absolutely lovely part of the world. But if you want some chips at quarter to seven on a Saturday night, try somewhere else, won't you?Food & drinks: Apparently they exist

This place is what you'd expect for a very old hotel in the middle of nowhere on the Scottish Coast. The room was nice, modern, but a bit dated by today's standards. We had a delightful dinner & breakfast, both served by the same person. There's probably a small family that runs the place.Overall, if you're looking for a place to stay to get away to the Islands, this would be the place to do it.Rooms: The room was great; 4 poster bed, nice & quiet; spacious, with a physical key on a huge fob. It reminds me of rooms from a 1920s - 30s BBC show like "All Creatures Great and Small".Food & drinks: Dinner was great & served at the attached bar. Breakfast was amazing & came with the room.

We were staying at a local B&B, and were so pleased to spot in for a pint in the afternoon and decided to return for dinner that night. The restaurant was so welcoming and food was delicious. There was a lovely atmosphere and all the staff were so kind. Thank you!

Just returned from a generally enjoyable stay at the Arisaig Hotel despite the weather! The bedrooms are comfortable, there was an excellent shower and the housekeeping staff were extremely pleasant. I stayed here some years ago and was looking forward to the cosy atmosphere the place had then, however the lounge is non existent, being given over to fitness classes and reception is basically the bar. I feel that the hotel has lost its character now and is poorer for it. Dining, which must be prebooked, is in the bar. The place had a nicer atmosphere in the past.

Lovely vintage hotel. Great view. Reasonable sized and comfortable room with a harbor view (14). Friendly and helpful staff. Heartedly enjoyed dinner and breakfast. 10/10 would stay here again.

I've been staying here for years, not every year but regularly. It's in a good spot, not too expensive and they take dogs. If it was smarter I couldn't afford it so I've continued to return even though it's maybe a bit tatty. This time the staff were great. They were cheerful and really helpful. Their attitude created a lovely warm atmosphere in the dining room. I don't think I've ever felt so comfortable eating on my own. Thank you

Overnight stay 13-14 September 2003. Bedroom was small and side window overlooked the rubbish bins. Rustic charms of bar and dining area not to my taste and roaming dog didn't add to any aesthetics. Dinned sounded great on menu but hand cut chips looked like skin on fries out of the freezer, this miss representation together with a beautiful website is evidence to me that the hotel sets out to deceive. This is my opinion based on my stay.

What a little gem the Arisaig Hotel was! We stopped for a meal on 15/09 and the food was outstanding. Lovely bar area that was very dog friendly and the gentleman who served us could not have been any friendlier or attentive. We have spent the last week travelling around the NC500 and this was by far the best meal we had. Would highly recommend and the gentleman who served us is a credit to the hotel - thank you!

Lovely website but what a pity the reality was to differ on our stay. Our twin room was small and the small window overlooked the rubbish bin. Nowhere in the website do they show the over bath shower we are both getting on a bit and expected a walk in ahower. The rustic charm of the bar and dining area didn't appeal to us especially with dogs roaming around. Staff were attentive during our stay here. A big negative is the quality of the coffee.

Perfect Sunday afternoon and evening. Bar and restaurant staff were lovely (despite being run off their feet). Food was excellent We had venison, Cullen skink and the mackerel scotch egg. Local band playing in the afternoon and then bonus of the world cup rugby being on the projector screen. Highly recommend. Definitely coming back as much as we can this week

Odd hotel, very overpriced for the tired public areas and bathrooms. Too many peremptory emails before arrival and no proper reception nor any lounge (there's a bar) - the only downstairs room seems to be given over to local keep fit classes.

The hotel was situated in the beautiful village of Arisaig, with views across the the Small Isles of Canna, Rhum, Eigg and Muck. You can get a boat trip for the day in the harbour opposite the hotel. The staff were really helpful, especially Kira, when our ferry to Uist was cancelled due to storm Betty. She made sure we were comfortable after booking another night, and organised a packed lunch (as a 4am dart meant we missed breakfast). The restaurant is an absolute gem! Live Gaelic music on Friday and Sunday, superb atmosphere. The food is excellent- locally caught seafood and great quality produce. I would eat here again (and again). Thanks to Gilly- very good customer service. There is also a small functional fitness room with kettlebells, TRX, Swiss ball etc.
