This place used to be great but we experienced poor service from bar staff in the main restaurant. Guinness tasted terrible, and the staff were uninterested. No choice of whiskey, only had enough for 2 measures, then ran out only had malt whiskey left. It's not a nice atmosphere ?. This place has gone downhill drastically.

Had lots of nice meals in here but was really disappointed yesterday I got the Thai vegetable curry and all that was in it was peppers and onions definitely not what I was expecting, my daughter got the chicken tempura and it was really really oily

We booked my mum of 85 years' into one of their rooms. Being the typical older generations didn't want to complain. It wasn't until later that night that she said she had to go to bed for a heat as the gaps on the window frame was really bad and the heating wasn't working. They provided a small radiator which wasn't adequate for the size of the room. I wrote a email to them and all I got was excuses from them. Not taking responsibility. Had the cheek to charge £81 for the privilege. She went down for dinner that night and said the steak was really bad full of fat, and the chips were floating in the steak's juices. Not a great experience for her. If it was myself I would have definitely have complained. Not a great experience

Came here on Sat 18th of may to have a family meal in remembrance of my late father in-law as thos would have been his 65th birthday. Service was shambolic and that's me being kind! Food was nice but the way the staff spoke to my mother in-law when she had to complain was atrocious! We most definitely won't be back!. I wouldn't even five one star for tonight's performance but it doesn't give that option!

Had a nice evening meal here looked after by very welcoming staff - took advantage of the set menu which was great value, and all food was to good standard and plenty of it. Kids menu with proper food choices not just frozen rubbish. very pleasant table in the 'conservatory' area. A la carte looked somewhat pricey, but if the quality of set meal is anything to go by then i would reckon the price is probably fair . would certainly return here for a family meal. thankyou

Arranged the wake following the funeral for my dad on 7th January. The service provided and kindness of the staff can't be emphasised. Wendy was great in helping in organising which was simple and straightforward which when your suffering from grief was what you need. The room provided gave myself, family and friends to come together in a comfortable and warm location to gather. The food provided was gorgeous and tasty. Would definitely recommend if your needing a venue.

My wife and I discovered this little gem a couple of weeks ago, which offers meals at great value and the portions are large, we paid £17 each for a three course meal.
The staff are friendly and helpful, I went with my wife and daughter yesterday afternoon, even though it was so busy, the staff found us a table, I would highly recommend the Laurieston above anywhere else. Great service and great value with excellent quality food.
