For a chippy ,the chips were disgusting we threw them away ,,I did try to eat them but they was horrible, clearly cooked in really dirty oil and you would think they've been in a few times,, 3 x small chips, yet one bag had just over handful Anougher had 5x more than other bags,, the salt just wasn't, we did want fritters but they had none at 8 Clock on a Saturday,I don't think they had anything but the chips and a pickle which thankfully came out the jar, I really didn't think chips could taste so bad from a business that seemed to only have chips,also it really did stink of something bad in there ,,,not fussed about service don't need a convo but even the one other customer in there looked lost and regretfull

Nipped in during work for a chip roll. Chips had lots of black speckles on it (my first red flag really) I ate it anyway as I was hungry. At night I had a really upset tummy, felt sick and hot. Strongly believe it was due to the food.
It?s a shame because Albert is always so nice, welcoming and friendly. I think more pride needs to be taken in the food..

Husband called in for fish & chips as other place we usually use was busy and this place had been recommended.
However they only take cash not card Husband had to go to shop next door he then ordered 1fish supper and a single fish a bottle of red cola and bottle of water , no water available.
The fish batter was chewy clearly not fresh and very greasy and the chips were limp and also greasy . It was the worst fish I have ever tasted. We won't be returning.

Great meal for all the family! Hot fresh and tasty food. All the family LOVED it. Reasonably priced, amazing quality and friendly staff. Will be back!!!

Sadly alberts used to be a great chip shop but over the last 5yrs the standards have fallen so low greasy food undercooked n the oils they use for cooking is under heated and cheap basic frying oils, it saddens me as alberts used to be a great wee chippy n i was raised workin in my familys chipshop n icecream parlour so ye i know when the oil is under heated n cheap oils etc time to get new fryers n management n make alberts great again ?
