Could be absolutely brilliant but let down by poor service and communication.Arrived on Friday night for the weekend. Absolutely beautiful location with lovely accommodation and amazing facilities. It's a half hour drive from any shops or restaurants so we were looking forward to making use of the bar and restaurant on site so we could relax and have a drink.Sadly on arrival, we went to the cafe to be told it was closing for a week from Saturday. So no food and no drink without driving to Oban. If we had known this, we wouldn't have booked. The barman couldn't understand why we were a bit disappointed. On discussing with reception, no offer of any compensation or even a gesture of good will. Just an offer to recommend some restaurants.I went to ask if any way of getting some milk for a coffee and was offered a coffee from the machine in reception. Same machine as in cottage, yet I was charged for it, when all I needed was some milk.I asked to buy some more logs for the fire and was reminded I also had to pay for the ones that were in lodge on arrival!Again. It's a lovely place but feel really let down with lack of understanding how much of an impact the closure has had on our trip and lack of any real apology or gesture of good will. Sadly I can't recommend for this reason

We had an absolutely lovely time at Melfort Village during our recent short break. Our children had a great time in the playground and the pool and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food served in the cafe and bar.The accommodation was pristine and well stocked (including a thoughtful gift for the canine member of our group!). All of the staff were so kind and welcoming as well - it was just all fantastic! We are already planning our next visit

Wonderful location and an amazing place to get a way from things. Fire on, games with the family and just old fashioned quality time.

We have been going to Melfort since 1986, from the US. It is more like a second home to us. Love it! Staff is phenomenal, location gorgeous, an all around beautiful place to be.Rooms: Spacious rooms and love the fireplace, even in July!Safety: Always feel safe there.Walkability: Fun to walk the entire estate and meet up with other visitors.

Family holiday with a mostly adult group and it was perfect. The weather treated us so we were able to enjoy all the facilities like eating outside, running in the hills, tennis and enjoying the gardens. The setting is magical surrounded by hills and greenery with a river running through it and only a short hop and skip to the Loch. Nice clean pool and sauna area. TV and snooker room well fitted out but a but hot and stuffy in this heat! Beautiful area.

Great location for our 7 night stay with excellent facilities and everything we could have asked for a great holiday. The weather was excellent which always helps, but a beautiful location and great facilities and properties. Dog friendly an added bonus.

I wasn't at the actual village, but visiting relatives in the locale, so can't actually comment on the amenities, but Google won't let me choose the actual.location I was at. Looked OK though...
