Location was very good, secluded and there was minimal wind so quite a few midges about (admittedly not their fault)
I'd give 5 stars but we booked this spot as a stopover on our NC500 trip as a way to have a warm shower and to wash out clothing. However the washing machine was broken and they only had one and no alternatives near the site. We'd been staying on the road for a few days prior and had no access to facilities to clean our clothes which we assumed we could do here so was very disappointed when we arrived unable to with no alternative.
The showers were okay but you had to press the button every 5-10 seconds to keep it going. I understand this is a water saving feature and to prevent people leaving them on but a 30-60 second timer would have been better in my opinion.
Friendly staff and good grounds though, just didn't suit our particular needs and I assume the washing machine works the majority of the time and we just got unlucky.

Friendly guy on the desk, pitch up where you want which was nice to have the freedom. Facilities were okay but nothing special.

Beautiful place, campsite was ok,shower facilities were unisex at one side of the campsite, they were a good size with a shower in them,so plenty of privacy and shelfs to put your toiletries on,only draw back there was enough for the size of the campsite, you had more at the other side, this time male and female blocks, draw back with both, there was no facilities if you wanted to dry or straighten your hair, you could use the reception area, but no mirror, I know, fussy eh.lol. But all in all we had a great time.

We were there last night .
the site is lovely , toilet and showers did not seem the cleanest .
The pub is fantastic.
Biggest gripe is that I left some walking shoes to dry in the drying area but we had to leave early to avoid the worst of storm floris and the area was all locked up.
Tried the warden who was particularly unhelpful saying that no one would be there until 9.00.
Pair of good shoes lost

Beautiful part of Scotland. I have wanted to visit since reading about the area in Graeme Macrae Burnet?s ?His Bloody Project?, and was not disappointed. In a word - Idyllic.
The site is well situated, clean, and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
I will suggest some hooks to be added to the men?s ablutions nearest the reception area, but otherwise it is difficult to find fault.

Only stayed one night with a tent but a fantastic little site. The two ladies at reception were lovely and helpful. All amenities you'd need for a camping trip.

Great location, great facilities and stunning surroundings. Lovely pub down the round and worth booking if going in for food as it's the only one. Have been here a few times and will definitely be back.

Can't believe it's been 6 years since I was last here. Great site, great views and a short walk to the pub/restaurant.

Lovely location, deer walking around outside. However if you plan to stay here on a Tuesday, the local pub is open only to residents of the pub! The campsite did fail to tell us that...

Plenty of space available but book in advance. Lovely site to park up and camp for the night nice an quiet good view and clean facilities. Staff very helpful as we couldn't get a electric hookup point they let us fast charge our power station in the morning at reception so we can run the cpap machine the next night

Was unsure about booking initially as some reviews are more negative, I also had a strange phone call with a woman during the day enquiring about availability and she was very vague and then asked me if I have a computer so I could make my booking??
ANYWAY after using my phone and making a booking online, upon our arrival, David was fantastic at hosting us all and making us feel welcome! He was really helpful and friendly too?
there was lots of space to park up and pitch our tents, as well as play games etc
All in all a pretty good campsite, there is lovely seating inside the green house and the toilets and showers are good, one of the showers only turned on for 5 seconds before needing to press it again, but that?s fine that?s the only complaint :)
Also they have a washing machine (£3) and a dryer (£1) which I think is a great addition for a campsite!
Would recommend xxx

We stayed for one night in our camper van and had a peaceful stay with beautiful views overlooking the sea. Welcoming friendly and helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Spotless showers and loos. Deer came right up to the perimeter, a real treat to see. Beautiful location and would definitely recommend and stay again ?
