This was our 2nd visit to Lodge on the Lochside and it was even better than the first. We had an outstanding lunch at the attached Wee bear Cafe, food is fresh, locally grown and just that wee bit different. The service was fantastic and the coffee is gorgeous and piping hot. All the bread for the sandwiches, the focaccia and the other breads are all baked in-house as are the huge variety of cakes available. Our room was very pretty, had a double bed and a sofa. Tea and coffee making tray in the room with ground coffee and a cafetière too. Small bathroom with very swanky shower, lots of spray options and a rain shower too. There is a large lounge to share with other guests and a fully equipped kitchenette. Free breakfast available in the kitchen comprising bread, butter, jam, fresh juices, yoghurts, milk, and 4 different types of cereals. It is a really lovely place to stay and meet other people. We will definitely be back again

What a fantastic jewel of a find! Gareth & his staff were so welcoming. Our room was one of the smaller ones but spotless & all we needed for 2 nights, with a great fancy, modern en suite shower. Outside caterers on the Friday night provided fantastic food & the Wee Bear Cafe provides superb home made fayre during the day. Would definitely recommend this wonderful place to stay.

I can't believe I have this gem of a cafe pretty much on my doorstep and have only just been. The food and the service was fantastic. The cakes were amazing, coffee and tea was very much on point.I'll be back for sure when you reopen next March.

We had a brilliant stay here! Rooms were very comfortable and honestly a bargain for the price. Thrilled to have use of the kitchenette and the shared area was well kept. Rooms very clean, super comfortable pillows, and loved that there was an aero press (best coffee in a hotel/B&B room I've ever had!). Whilst this time we were dog-less we're hoping we'll be able to return with our dog in tow.
We stopped at the cafe for a meal and the food was great as well!

Excellent location, rooms are superb and comfortable. Everything is available (lunch, television, etc.) It's a shame that there was no one there to welcome us, but everything was in place to welcome us despite everything.

Beautiful quiet location. Defo need transport but there is bike hire next door.
Rooms: Clean and spacious
Nearby activities: Peel farm shop with nature trail.
On route stop at reeka linn waterfall
Picnic bench and carpark short walk to a beautiful waterfall
Food and drinks: Alyth fish and chip shop 5 mile drive but delicious.

Our room and beds were fairly comfortable, though the bed frames were very noisy when you turned over.
The fancy shower was horrible because the temperature was sensitive to anyone else running a tap and the pressure was low.
The walls were thin so every movement in the surrounding rooms, or people walking down the passage was audible.
Unfortunately the kitchen facilities were also inadequate. A hot plate and some pots and a pan would have been useful to cook steak and boil pasta. A couple of sharp knives, one serrated, are essential in a kitchen.
I didn't see an extractor fan in the kitchen, so cooking smells spread across down the passage to the accommodation even though we opened the lounge window.

Absolutely fantastic wee place! The rooms were clean and well presented. The TV was full of channels and the beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a good size aswell and you can get nice views from the window. The staff were really lovely and friendly and there is a lounge room with a sitting and kitchen area to play games and prepare breakfast etc. Only problem I had with our stay was the shower as it kept changing temperature while I was inside it. Other than that was an absolutely perfect stay and I would definitely recommend!
Safety: In a very nice area so felt very safe while staying there. All well lit and locked up so it felt very secure.

Didn't use the accommodation, but the general ambience, service and food was great.
