This was our first visit and I cannot recommend this lovely cafe highly enough! It?s so warm and welcoming with so many beautiful things to look at. Even although it was busy, the service was excellent and we felt very comfortable and relaxed. There was a friendly buzz with happy looking customers.
So many cafes we?ve been to recently seem to offer exactly the same predictable options, but here we were spoilt for choice with a range of delicious sounding dishes. In the end I chose blue cheese, pear and walnut bruschetta made with freshly baked focaccia and I will honestly be thinking of this for a long time ?. It was absolutely delicious. When I enquired, I found out they bake everything freshly on the premises, and cook their own ham . My husband had smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel with salad and was so impressed with the quality of the taste and presentation ( not just your usual side of limp lettuce and cucumber here!) . My brother chose the poached salmon and we were informed this is also cooked daily on site. He said it was beautifully fresh and full of flavour.
The coffee was excellent and our only regret was we didn?t have room to sample the amazing looking cakes as they had been recommended to us.
The cafe also has beautiful home wear and gifts for sale and it is so stylishly displayed? like being in a lovely home. I enjoyed browsing and I bought one or two gifts.
We had been recommended The Black Faced Sheep by friends and were so glad we visited. It?s a rare treat to find a cafe if this standard.

A gem in Aboyne.
Absolutely enjoyable visit and the food was excellent. Morag walked up to be and was so warm and helpful. I explained I was in a hurry and just wanted to take away, she got my order and had it ready speedily.
I could tell my food was made with love! Beautiful presentation in the box and absolutely delicious.
Coffee and cake also superb! I couldn?t have asked for more.
I will certainly be back.

We visited this lovely homely restaurant in Aboyne, Royal Deeside. We had a very nice time with our group. The food served was delicious and the chocolate roulette was one of the best desserts I have tried in Scotland. Highly recommended.

This wee place is a gem, with interesting curios for the home and a cosy coffee shop. I wish I lived closer, but it makes a trip to Aboyne worthwhile!
