We tried the Tasting Menu at Still & Stove for a birthday dinner (Sun. 10) and it was absolutely perfect! The setting was magnificent, we had a private table which overlooked the bar. The service was very attentive with a very knowledgeable and lovely waitress. The dishes were all very good (special mention for the desserts). We loved it thank you ?

Hotel is really nice, food is exceptional, staff friendly, huge selection of drinks. If able to, 5 course meal was really good. The haggis is sooo good.

We stayed for 3 nights at this adorable little boutique hotel in Rothes. Rothes is a sleepy little town but this hotel is definitely worth a stop for dinner or drinks, even if you stay elsewhere. Our room, the Glen Spey suite, was nicely appointed with a completely renovated and modern bathroom and giant soaking tub. Everything was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that there was a heat wave the week we were there (2nd week of Sept), nothing in Scotland has A/C, and while the room has a window and fan, the window was covered in spiders and so we had a few very scary spider encounters. They are a little short staffed due to covid (as is everywhere in Scotland), but the staff are BEYOND lovely and helpful. They never make you feel rushed or bothersome, and they do everything they can to accommodate. The restaurant onsite is excellent but if you are American the burger will not be what you are expecting and I recommend you try other dishes. Everything is locally sourced and the scallops/short rib appetizer was one of the best things I ate during our entire 2 week trip. And of course I cannot leave a review without mentioning the amazing and extensive whisky collection they have at the onsite bar. We had so much fun trying a lot of new-to-us Scotches. They also have many rare vintages and difficult to find whiskeys that you can try by the dram. There are very well priced flights including one with old whiskeys.Final thoughts: there is no Uber in the area so plan on requesting taxis an hour or more before you need them. Glen Grant Distillery is a 5 minute walk away, and Glenfiddich Distillery is about a 15 minute drive. Breakfast at the on site restaurant was the best we had at a hotel!Nearby activities: There is almost nothing to do in Rothes aside from walking along the river, Glen Grant Distillery (which has a nice garden to walk through), and two tiny restaurants with limited hours. I felt that having a car was necessary except that if you are drinking you need to take a taxi, and Uber was not available.Safety: Rothes is a very quiet safe town.

Staff were excellent, the restaurant was beautifully appointed, the food was also very good - and tasty, what there was of it? All good except for two things, firstly portion sizes were lamentable, £24.00 for a 2? cube of belly pork, small pork loin and half a small pork pie?? Dessert was a Mille feuille which my daughter consumed in two bites - for £8.00?? secondly when paying so much, I would have expected at least a small amount of veg rather than having to pay £6.00 for a vanishingly small bowl containing a couple of small carrots some broccoli and onion. Again, to reiterate, the place was lovely and staff excellent

Had dinner at the restaurant. Beef shoulder was excellent, tasty and tender. Veal was cooked perfectly (med-rare) but quite gristly. Dessert was the biggest disappointment. Whisky Parfait was bland, and a tiny portion size - sounded way better than it was.

Didn't stay at the hotel this year although stayed last year and it was great. Ate at Toots Bar last Tuesday evening and couldn't believe the portions we were served - don't think they were so mean with the food last year. There were 4 of us and although 1 guest had the burger, which was a reasonable portion. I had fish and someone else had Lamb an the portions were pitiful, they smallest I have ever been served - and i have eaten all over the world. There was no one else in the restaurant - although when we stayed last year the restaurant had other guests so I don't think we were the 1st to complain about the portion sizes. The food itself was excellently prepared but just tiny portions - and expensive! Would not eat there again until they change their chef

Overall, this was among the best hotel experiences we've had on our holiday. The Station Hotel is conveniently located for a variety of activities, sports updated rooms and grounds, and has an attentive and helpful staff that, by our experience, could do no wrong. Lunch and dinner meals were all delicious, had nice portion sizes, and seemed appropriately priced. The breakfasts were fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed the smoked Scottish trout and scrambled eggs. I love that the establishment has adopted a "field to fork" attitude, which the food definitely reflected. Two downsides -- the reason for four stars for the rooms -- no air conditioning during a hot spell over our stay (open 2nd floor window meant lots of traffic noise), and no elevator, which meant lugging heavy bags up and down stairs. But overall, if I ever come back to this area, The Station will be at the top of my list to book again.Rooms: Recently updated rooms. The mattress seemed a bit soft. The staff was quick to swap out the feather pillows and bed cover with non-feathered options.Nearby activities: Glen Grant distillery is about a five-minute walk from this hotel. Other major distilleries are an easy drive. Rothes itself offers a pleasant main street to walk along, but seems fairly quiet overall. Outdoor activities are an easy trek, whatever the desire.

A great location from which to visit the distilleries of Speyside. Very warm service from the staff and the food at the restaurant is excellent- all locally sourced and prepared fresh. Inspired flavours & dishes - a wonderful menu! The whiskey bar is well stocked with an excellent selection. Loved that they had a car park and the rooms & beds were very comfy. Highly recommend!

Very poor and limited menu.Friendly but not even a suggestion of being able to help. 1 of 2 place open and still no assistance or offer. Missed opportunity for sure.

Very nice restaurant. A bit more expensive, but great food.If whiskey is your thing then skip desert and pop over to Toots (same place different room) to browse/sample an endless list of offers.

Just ate dinner there. Best Restaraunt in the surrounding area. Very flavorful dishes and great versions of classics. Would definitely go again

We were visiting Macallan and decided to dine at the Pagoda following a review in the Scotland on Sunday newspaper. The whole experience was superb from booking, to the meal and the fantastic service. Anna who took our booking remembered my wife was.Vegan. She provided great vegan options for her. Anna was super professional and friendly. The food was really excellent. Locally sourced and brilliantly presented. My advice is to book well in advance. We were lucky to get in at 7 pm. The restaurant was full shortly thereafter. Sensible prices too. Well done to the team.
