Macallan truly lives up to the tag of being the most modern distillery in Scotland. The modern architecture is truly amazing - the distillery is practically invisible from a distance you struggle to locate it. Once you?re inside though, you?re truly mesmerized. This is an ultra modern distillery compared to the others we?ve seen and it does show their commitment to creating a world class product. The tours tend to be a bit scripted with lot of demos that you would otherwise not see in other distilleries. The bar & restaurant are well stocked and you must stop by for a drink & a bite if you can.

Last minute decision whilst in the area to come and see the distillery. Phoned to book late lunch on the day - please note you have to book an experience - don?t just turn up!! Had no expectations and we were blown away by it all. Fabulous taster lunch (amazing value too for the standard of food!) and thank you to Laura who answered our millions of questions about the architecture and history of the building with such knowledge. Everyone who works here is absolutely delightful and couldn?t be more helpful. Also thank you to Callum who talked us novices through the whisky making process and showed us the stills. A truly memorable afternoon in a fabulous setting. Even if you don?t like whisky, go here for the experience - it?s a brilliant place

The Macallan distillery is a wonderful place worth visiting. Many thanks to Adam for the tour and summary of the history of Macallan and all the important information. Adam has great knowledge and is able to answer questions. Beautiful distillery. I recommend everyone to visit this place.

My husband and are so excited to be celebrating our Wedding Anniversary at the Macallan Estate on 9/4/22. We are flying out from California to Scotland specifically to visit the Macallan Estate. We are both Macallan Scotch fans. We have a lunch scheduled. We were unable to book any of the Private Tour experiences as they were all booked up months in advance. We were unable to rescheduled the trip so we are looking forward to making the best of the experience. I am looking forward to sharing more about the in person experience.

Took my dad here on Saturday 17th February for the Discovery Experience as part of his Christmas. We certainly were not disappointed. Tea and scones before the beginning of the tour was a nice touch, and we got to have a chat with the welcoming and very knowledgable staff. They all appeared to enjoy their jobs and in general seemed happy to be there, which is always a good sign! The setting and the architecture alike were both stunning, and the history behind the estate and the product was very interesting. Although we didnt intend to initially, we made an afternoon of it and had a couple of halfs in the upstairs whisky bar after the tour, and tried a whisky cocktail each. A very enjoyable day indeed, and we would certainly return if in the area again. Well worth the trip up from Ayrshire ?

I have purchased this 18 years old Macallan whiskey at Indra Gandhi International Airport New Delhi India , the logo of Macallan is totally different then the regular Macallan , I just want to ask thet is that bottle is real Macallan whiskey or duplicate product. The heading on bottle is very different then regular Macallan, the 12 years old bottle one I have purchased from USA

Macallan, this sounds great. We booked a Mastery Tour and it was fantastic (absolutely recommended!). The effort involved here is unique, which is why it is understandable that it can only be done with advance notice. After this tour I like the whiskey even better. I will definitely come again.

Macallan is my favorite Scotch by far. When I look at visiting, I thought it would be "easy" but I must say, at first, going through the booking, I wasn't sure why and what to expect. Why they have such a limited seating? Why you have to book even to visit the shop? You won't enter the grounds without a visitor booking. However, after going through the experience, they do this very limited booking to elevate the experience to another level. This keep the number of visitors to a minimal which makes the place feel truly special, grandious, selective. When you enter this new state of the art, beautiful building you will be taken by how proud this brand is of their history. This building is beautiful. If you like architecture, they did an amazing job building this. I would go back just to walk around the place. Each employee are great and the tasting is worth it. I book the tasting event. You are sitting at a table of 8 and you have a Macallan Connaisseur making you taste few Scotch of their collection. That is about 60-90 minutes. If your partner doesn't drink, you still have to pay for them to attend, but they can "bottle" those samples so you can re-experience it at home, which I did and my spouse actually enjoyed the event and she learned more about Scotch and the Macallan history.Once this is over, you can purchase any Scotch Macallan has available at their bar and the selection is wide. My only regret is not pulling the trigger on trying anything over 18 years old. Because of this, I now have to fly all over Scotland again and visit this beautiful site again, taste 3 or 4 more Macallan then buy a 30, 40 or 50 years old glass of Scotch. If you like Macallan and are in Scotland, Book ahead, at least a Month or so and go visit these ground. Book a cab too! No UBER!

We visited the Macallan Estate for a tour led by Yola was an absolute delight. Purchased weeks in advanced we booked the discovery experience for a Friday evening in December. Her passion for the craft was evident from the moment she welcomed us. Yola's engaging storytelling brought the history of the distillery to life. The tour offered an immersive experience. From witnessing the meticulous distillation process to the Macallan bar sampling the best they had to offer, Yola's knowledge and enthusiasm made this journey through whiskey making a truly memorable adventure. The estate for us was not easy to get to. As travelers from Toronto, Canada navigating the towns was a bit challenging for us, especially when trying to reach the distillery from Aberdeen. Unfortunately, the last minute cancellation of trains to Keith added a layer of difficulty to the journey. However, despite the transportation hurdles, we had a great time. Would recommend booking taxi roundtrip in advanced if you plan on drinking. there were limited taxi drivers available at the time and we were lucky!

Modern distillery with an elegant architecture but I missed the feeling of a distillery visit. It seemed like a fancy boutique for tourists. You are offered tea/coffee on arrival. The whiskey tasting includes drams of 12, 15 & 18 year old each. There was another one at the end from one of their special travel edition, although definitely matured less than 10 years in cask. The process was explained clearly although if you ask a question out of syllabus/notes, the guy fumbled. We did taste whiskey before it goes into the barrel (63% ABV) I wish they would have let us taste from the barrels rather than from bottles in the bar.The brand is a historic one but the new directions seem to focus on marketing and collaboration with designers etc etc.We drove 3+ hours from Edinburgh and went back in the evening. The views were great though with snow covered mountains.
