We ordered a pot of tea and a cappuccino. The tea came made with stone cold water and when we took it back it took them 15 minutes to get some hot water, we had to nudge them twice - we almost missed our boat. And the coffee was comfortably the worst I?ve had in a long time.
I wonder if we were the first customers of the morning and they hadn?t really switched things on?? Only a 2 star rather than one as the staff were not unfriendly.

Decent coffee and food. We had fish and chips and pizza and chips for dinner.
Well looked after by the staff.
Clean toilets.

Went for breakfast this morning before a sail on the Sir Walter Scott. Unfortunately this proved to be disappointing and expensive. The gluten free sausages were inedible, morning rolls were OK, the two teas we paid £5.70 for consisted of one tea bag in a pot and a pot of hot water. This was our second visit and I'm afraid we won't be going again.

Coffee was fine but I echo comments about scones - undercooked and rock solid

Place is beautifully situated. The interior decor is old school in a very good way. Don't know what it is exactly but it makes you think of a Victorian era cafe in its design. Soup and sandwich deal is £10. The sandwich was filled to the brim with chicken and the soup was delicious. It's a simple place to get you filled at an acceptable price in a beautiful place. If you're going on the steamship its a relaxing and casual place to get full and ready for the cold of the lovely Scottish summer.

Got two afternoon teas (four people) and the scones were rock solid and sandwiches were stale.
Service was bad, ordered drinks and the tray was just dumped on the table.
Had to ask for milks for the tea, no plates or cutlery.
Can?t even say it was because it was busy, it was quiet. Would never return!

Visisted yesterday and was disappointed, been here on several occassions. Cafe was quiet, our table hadn't been cleaned! Some left over afternoon teas left on tables outside which had attracted birds and flies. Saw cleaner taking a bucket of dirty water out of a cupboard, hopefully this wasn't to wash floors. Toilet floors had been washed but towel bin and sanitary bin were both overflowing!
A very disappointing visit!!
Lady serving was nice and friendly.

A basic afternoon tea. Sandwiches ok, scone nice, but cakes a bit basic. Friendly staff. Plenty of seats outside or inside.

We stopped off here to visit the new look out point and we had a coffee. There was 2 busses there so it was very busy but we decided to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and the bird life.

Waited a while to get served. Person on till seems to do everything. Ordered soup for two, bowl half full and luke warm. Once dipped bread in soup the bowl nearly empty.
For £4.95 each very poor.

After our earlier mini cruise, my wife and I jumped here for coffee and cake. Great wee choice. Additionally, the views ate beautiful. Bravo ?.

Not greeted at all on arrival, felt like a time warp to the 1970s. Interior not updated in forever, plastic flowers. Menu options uninspiring and all appear to be from frozen and made from cheap ingredients. Awful cold stale pie, cheese scone that tasted of little but bicarb. Oat milk only available on the side so I assume all hot drinks are made by a machine?
Staff seem uninterested in anything besides hoovering their carpet. We were there long before closing and they were hoovering one table over from us.
I ordered soup, they totally forgot and didn?t apologise when I went to enquire about its whereabouts.
Just not worth your time, has such potential in such lovely location.
Definitely recommend the new viewpoint but avoid the cafe. Bring your own flask and a tea cake.
