Such a special place! We did the red deer and barn owl experience which was first class. The session was run by Andy who had endless knowledge on both animals. Our 17month old was mesmerised by the barn owl flying up and down the room and he got to feed the deer (as did everyone). There's a small play area outdoors too and a cafe indoors with a lovely gift shop. We will definitely be back when we're visiting Scotland again.

Absolutely fantastic from booking to end. I spoke with Faye, who was very helpful. This was due to us taking our 90 year old Dad on the safari. We were slightly concerned the experience would not be suitable. Faye put our minds at rest and we booked the 2.5hr safari. We were put in Eddie?s very capable hands. Eddie was fantastic, very knowledgeable and good fun also. My Dad loved it as of course we did too. Dad wants to come back next year. We would highly recommend, great experience and great value.

One of the best days out we?ve had!We headed over to Highland Safaris after hearing about them by chance. We were looking for somewhere local to Kenmore to eat and the cafe came highly recommended, but we didn?t realise it was part of the Highland Safari business. When we arrived, we were met by one of the nicest members of staff who I honestly can?t thank enough as his manner, especially with the kids, absolutely made our experience that much better. Sorry I didn?t catch his name but it was the gentleman who was on cafe duties 04/03 (officially, but helped with running everything!) who is a real credit to the company! He was so friendly, knowledgable sharing lots of little stories with us and just very easy to chat to. We had some lunch which was delicious and then headed off for my son?s highlight - the mini land rovers! These replicas of the full size defenders are absolutely brilliant for kids to have a shot on, with a perfect track which has both a safe dirt circular route, with a few natural bends in the landscape to offer a child?s view of a bit of an ?element of danger? going over the odd mound or tree root. The guide I mentioned above was with us and had a kill switch remote if any driving by my six year old got a bit questionable, which as a parent is great to see fun being high on the priority list, but safety first! We then went in search of the red deer and owls. There is a short discovery trail around the fields where the deer were relaxing so we had a great view to see them up close, and we were also lucky enough to see one of the owls perched in her enclosure. A swing in the play park, and a few purchases in the gift shop later and our visit was complete. We went ?off season? in March so activities such as gold panning, archery and axe throwing weren?t on that day, which sound great fun so we will definitely be back in the summer, but not having access to these elements didn?t spoil our visit in the slightest there was still lots to do! Of course the biggest attraction to Highland Safaris is the actual vehicle safaris which look amazing, but on this trip we weren?t there to enjoy those experiences, we just wanted somewhere to take the kids for a couple of hours of play (kids can do the safaris too but just not the purpose of our visit on this occasion).A thoroughly well maintained, lovely location with well thought out and planned activities with the loveliest staff? What more can you ask for?

Absolutely fantastic! We had an amazing time with the highland safari in the 4x4 up to a bothy and we managed to see some red deer too! Eddie was our guide for that part and he was very knowledgeable and had a good laugh with us, was very patient with me getting photos toThe Red Deer Centre was also very good where we got hands on with some red deer while feeding them. We also got a lovely flying display from the barn owls. Niall was our expert for this part and again, was very knowledgeable and made the learning funHighly recommend going! For adults or the whole family

What an amazing experience. We visited yesterday with our tour company- Cairngorm Travel and had the pleasure of Robbert as our guide. He explained the hunting skills of the beautiful Barn owl and then we net the deer. Despite the rain we were able to feed these amazing animals and take lots of photos. A tip for the future, wait until the rest of your party have left the feeding area, ho and get more food and you have the deer to yourself. Thank you Robbert for making my day .

Had a fantastic time at Highland Safaris near Aberfeldy on Wednesday 8th November. We booked the Red Deer experience and really just expected to be taken to an enclosure where we could view the animals. However, over the course of a couple of hours, Robbert introduced us to Ossian the Barn Owl, providing some amazing facts and figures on these beautiful birds. He then moved on to the Red Deer, describing what they go through during each of the seasons of the year while showing an assortment of antlers taken from different ages and species of deer. Then it was time to head outside and meet the deer - a few hinds and a couple of rival stags. We even took a cupful of pellets to feed the deer which was brilliant! A big thank you to Robbert : very knowledgeable, professional, approachable and friendly, and some absolutely ridiculous joke-telling! All in all, a brilliant experience in some stunning scenery, and we would thoroughly recommend.

Was recommended to this place for the food and it did not disappoint. After a long wet walk we visited, with our two pups, and found a very warm welcome, in front of the log burner. Proper homemade lentil soup and delicious cake!Had a surprise view of the residents to top it off!Highly recommend it!

We only went to the (free) Discovery trail and into the little shop. It was a pity we hadn?t booked a safari beforehand (we usually stay away from such ?offers? due to its -often- too touristy character). Yet, what we saw looked very professional and the staff knowledgeable. There is lots to do for families (archery, animal encounters, toy cars, gold-digging).If we come back to this area, I will probably book a tour!
