Tried to hire a kilt albeit on Friday 29th for Hogmanay. Was told yes but on top of the standard fee there would be a "late order charge"Obtained the kilt hire from a nearby competitor who didn't have such a charge and so I didn't feel like I was inconveniencing the staff by giving me a service

Avoid this place for kilt hire. The service was awful compared to others in Aberdeen. I could go on, would give 0 stars if I could.

Very unreliable and poor customer service. I placed an online order due the 10% discount online offer on Saturday 25th March. I received a phonecall to double check my order before processing. This was a week after the order was placed. When asked about this they advised that they were waiting on one of items coming into stock. This was not stipluated on the website at the time of ordering. The 10% discount was also extremely misleading which did not apply to all items on the basis it would only be applied to full priced items. Again the website did not list the most expensive item in question as a sale item. Cancelled and asked for refund.

Ordered a kilt for our wedding this July and when a family member has went into the store to order there matching outfit he was told the kilt had been discontinued. We are deeply angered by the non existent customer service. I dread to think if we had went to collect the kilt the day before the wedding to be told it's discontinued. Avoid at all cost.

My experience with McCalls Highlandwear has been nothing hort of PHENOMENAL!!!! I am located in Canada but eloping to Scotland so I contacted McCalls via email to discuss the possibility of ordering a kilt package for my father to pick up once he arrives.The service was FANTASTIC! - Helpful, Friendly, Prompt, Resourceful and just so smooth and easy! I loved that I could show my dad the options on the McCalls website but then had a wonderful, WONDERFUL associate to work with and gather and prepare the kit for us.They made the experience so positive that I wish I had more to buy! Will definitely be using McCalls in the future and plan to visit when we travel there ourselves.They are exceptional and I am SO glad I was able to work with them, what a fabulous experience for a once in a lifetime purchase. Don't order your kilt at McCalls. Calls go unanswered or you get fobbed off with "a manager will call you later" and they never do (was told this 5x before going in person to find out what was happening). We weren't told the jacket the groom was ordering was on a 6-month wait list and wouldn't arrive until after wedding until we enquired 4 weeks before the date. No help finding an alternative. We didn't get the promised discount and never actually received the allegedly ordered jacket.

I was delighted with my kilt fitting by an expert there's no doubt about that, Craig was just great a proper professional. He made doubly sure everything was as it should be, perfection. It would be great if all personnel worked to his very high standards, McCall's are very fortunate he works for them.

Went here due to Philip king being taken over by them. Bad communication and organization when phoning in trying to rebook measures etc. On collection it's a good thing we made them check everything was there rather than trust them, as half the kilt stuff wasn't packed. Glad we checked before travelling 3 hours to a wedding. Only good service was a young woman( long brown hair) downstairs that did my son's and I measurements, you were great. Two stars are for the actual kilts quality being good, but that's about it unfortunately.
