Popped in after a trip to the beach. The kitchen closed at 230pm but they still accepted our order at 220pm. Lovely paninis and scones and great latte. Not expensive either. Friendly staff and would definitely recommend

This is a large modern, coffee shop within Balmedie Leisure Centre. It was clean and bright with colourful plastic chairs and an outdoor seating area with children's play area. It was busy and lively when I popped in with a friend for lunch. We both had the baked potatoes which were nice. Staff were polite and helpful. The homes bakes looked nice but the piece of Victoria sponge I had was rather dry and disappointing. However this is a nice coffee shop and I would return if in Balmedie.

It's good that Balmedie has a coffee shop. But ignore the brown tourist road signs. Unfortunately it's wrongly named - this is not on the beachside at all. The coffee shop is around a mile from the beachside, in Balmedie village, not easy to find. It's nearer the main road. We drove there to explore the beach, worth a visit, and the windswept dunes are interesting. Some of them are quite high and give views back to the village or out towards the sea. It's also not far from Trump's famed golf course. But the sausage bap bought before the kitchen closed had two tiny chipolata style sausages in a dry roll - certainly overpriced. No butter? The coffee was excellent, which made up for it a bit - until visiting the toilet (cubicle only) and discovering the remains of someone else's lunch had been deposited there in all its sausage-shaped glory. I know this is not the fault of the Beachside's owner - and they're not responsible for the misleading brown road signs either, but it did spoil the visit. I think it closes at 3 pm so make sure you get there before that. Avoid the sausages. Maybe try a scone?

Staying with family in Aberdeen and visited this cafe on two occasions. Both times the scones and coffee were first class. Everything baked on the premises. The staff are all lovely, very friendly and helpful. Our grandchildren love the ice cream selection and it was so nice to see their photos as being the first children on their new playground. A really nice clean cafe with good food.

Great village shop / post office. Owner, Mario, goes out of his way to provide an excellent service to all. The shop is open long hours, 7 days a week.A surprisingly extensive selection of items at keen prices, with a lot of the items - bread and cakes, eggs etc sourced from local businesses.Always a warm welcome at the Balmedie shop - thank you Mario !
