Would love to be able to review the spa facilities but unfortunately can't eve get through to book. Have left 3 voicemails over a week but nothing back so far. When I phoned the hotel directly to ask why I can't get through to the spa I was rudely told 'that it's nothing to do with them and to send an email if they weren't phoning back'. Sent an email but still waiting for a response. Avoid and spend your money elsewhere.

Would not recommend becoming a member of the gym. Never any space in the pool for kids swimming lessons, still advertising memberships don?t know where they plan to put everyone. Waste of membership money a month; I went for a swim today and turned and walked out, so did another memeber. We are both cancelling - avoid

It is not 4 star. If you are curious about the hotel, go for dinner and have a look around, but don?t waste your money staying there. The disappointment is overwhelming. The shower had mould, a door was hanging off, it was set up for one person, so only one of everything when we had paid for two. This was a privilege room we had paid for so an upgrade. Room service did not service our room. I think staff are just minimum wage and unable to help guests. I also emailed Ardoe House and got no reply. If you want a four star experience stay anywhere else but there.

The hotel, is dirty like filthy. Rubbish on the floor at check in. In your rooms beds barely made. So uncomfortable as the toppers are all scrunched up and not correctly in place. Horrible rough bedding. The rooms made you think you would catch something. Doesn?t look like they have cleaned or spent a penny on it since my first visit 11 years ago. Not a 4 star hotel.

Do not go to room 6. Old musky smell not clean very dated chairs with holes in arms tablewith warped wood top.carpet stsined.dusty.wooden sash windows requiring repainting.alk windows dont ope .dirty in general.not impressed

We had booked a table for 6 today for my mother?s birthday and were not disappointed. The accomodations made for us and notice to detail did not go unnoticed.
We had 2 people with a halal dietary requirement. Most places would give you fish or vegetarian options. Ardoe went to the effort of sourcing halal chicken for the coronation chicken sandwiches and made suitable sausage rolls.
The young waiter was very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much for him.
The quality of all of the ingredients was very fresh including the bread. The flavours were well balanced and you all got your own pot of tea or coffee.
The environment and atmosphere at Ardoe was high class.
By far the best afternoon tea we?ve had and we?ve had a few. Thoroughly recommend.

I was very impressed with the place. Wonderful staff, great service and delicious food. Room was very clean, bed was very comfortable, and it was quiet and I was able to sleep very soundly. Location wasn?t all that great if you didn?t have a vehicle, but the taxi service was great and we didn?t have any problems with getting into town and back to the hotel.

Very unique place near Aberdeen, a stunning property. We did a day visit by car for the spa. For the spa building , you can tell it is quite dated but well maintained. The grounds and sitting /relaxing areas are excellent. The changing rooms are well equipped. I'd suggest the corners in the changing booths to be cleaned a bit more thoroughly. The pool and facilities superb ??

Had a spa day with treatments by the lovely Heather. Amazing massage and facial. so relaxing and afternoon tea that followed was just perfect.

I stayed here recently for 2 nights and unfortunately found it overpriced and quite neglected. The grounds and main building have the potential to be grand and luxurious (the location is lovely despite the noisy road), but the attention to detail and atmosphere is really lacking.
I requested to change rooms due to booming music from an event they had on, having been told when I complained that it would go on until 1am. It might be an idea to let guests know beforehand about loud events being held during their stay. Luckily the second room was in far better condition and much quieter, but the original room I was allocated had mouldy curtains, a stain on the ceiling above the bed, and felt generally unclean and very tired.
I was grateful that the staff offered me a quieter room, and I also thought the breakfast was fantastic including good vegan options. For the price, though, I expected all elements to be at this high standard. It could be a glorious place to stay in a beautiful location!

Afternoon tea was excellent.
Visited again 13/7/25 for 2 course lunch.
It was excellent, despite some fish courses not being available. My smoked salmon plus all the trimmings starter was one of the best I've had. See pic.
