Great place, went here for Sunday lunch and it was amazing

What a delightful pub. Staff were polite and so efficient. The flavours of my twice cooked cheese souffle on a bed and new potatoes was out of this world.
It felt like a Michelin star restaurant

As an aging old ?g?i?t? man, nagging has become a part of life but that's enough about me. We walked in off the street and was accommodated perfectly for a Sunday lunch without booking . Being a vegan, that's not an easy task, but the accommodating staff made me a meal that I can't complain about with service to match, In fact, it was so out of this world I'm definitely going back and taking friends as often as I can, despite the distance.
Sunday dinners are my religion, and this is now one of my churches. Hail Wheatsheaf! ?

The most stunning Sunday lunch.

Whilst staying locally we went here for our wedding anniversary and were made to feel very welcome. It was Sunday lunch and although it was very busy the service was excellent. The food was very well cooked and good portion sizes. They have an extensive wine list which is not cheap but on a par with other restaurants of a similar standard. Good selection of desserts . Definitely a notch up from normal pub grub.Would highly recommend !

Another fantastic meal in wonderful surrounding. The team are attentive, professional and a joy. My roast was huge so sadly no room for dessert. Will be back again next year! LOVED the onion bread!

The Wheatsheaf is about the atmosphere and this place has lots of it, you drive out to this type of public house for a soft drink.
The food looked delicious. This place caters for all. The staff were eager to help. The landlord... must run a tight ship but from a few words with him he is a nice chap. Nice beer.

Another wonderful lunch at the Wheatsheaf.
Celebrating a birthday so, we sat outside as a lovely sunny day. Excellent service as usual. Food was outstanding as ever. A birthday card and dessert plate were decorated for birthday, a very special touch. Thankyou once again to Carol, Scott and the team. See you soon.

There is a lot of choice in Rutland if you are looking for a good meal and The Wheatsheaf is definitely in the top five. The menu is interesting and the food is excellently prepared and served. The wine list is extensive and impressive. This was our first visit but we were treated like customers of long standing. There were four in our party, which was for a birthday meal - there was a handwritten birthday card on the table - and the bill came to £250 including drinks and a voluntary tip. We will definitely be returning to the Wheatsheaf, in Greetham.
