Went for Sunday roast having been at least 6 years ago. Still really good roast (choice of 4/5). We went for lamb and slow-cooked fillet beef as a roast. Pub is a typical cosy, quaint low ceiling country pub with quirky steps to navigate. Staff especially friendly and checking that everything was OK. It was. Surprisingly the restaurant was not full at 3pm on a Sunday- it should be!

The atmosphere was great (it was a Wednesday evening in July) and there were morris dancers outside (this doesn't take place every week, check in advance with the pub or Google local morris dancing sides if you're interested). The wood-fired pizzas were delicious and served with a smile. Pub has a good selection of drinks.

Had lunch yesterday with my brrother and my son. Staff were attentive but not smothering, amd all so.frienfdly.
Lady manager made time to chat and was so nice.
Food was really good, couldn't fault it. Portions were generous and I will definitely go back even though it's not nearby.
They get an awful lot right!

we came here last night for a meal with friends and the food was amazing. lovely atmosphere in the pub and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our waitress created us with a smile every time she came to the table and ensured all of our needs were met, she also asked about allergies as soon as she introduced herself!
very good portions of food and we all left very full and very happy, will definitely be visiting again!!!!

Met in here as it?s halfway between two distant towns where we all live. Booked on the strength of the reviews. Service good. Shame the food didn?t match up. Two roast beef dishes ordered. Veg was bland. Gravy ?claggy?. Yorkshire puds ?fatty?. Meat overdone. Lamb shanks well cooked but the accompanying gravy was too thick. Ditto re the veg - bland. Puddings were the saving grace of the meal.

The Wheatsheaf is a fantastic hidden gem. All three of us had the spare ribs for lunch today. They were absolutely delicious and a huge portion. Best ribs around. The staff were fantastic too.

We really enjoyed our visit to The Wheatsheaf when we went for Sunday lunch. We were seen to promptly and politely and our main course was served in good time.
The portions were good and everything was well cooked. After the main course we all felt well fed, but there's always room for a dessert! We did have to prompt a server to take our order, but things had got a bit busier at that point, so it wasn't really an issue.
Overall, the food was great, with the service and level of attentiveness being about right. Would I come back to The Wheatsheaf? Absolutely!
