Lovely welcome and very friendly atmosphere and dog friendly in the bar area. Beer was excellent and when looking at the food coming out will definitely eat there next time.

stumbled across this lovely place following a damp dog walk. The dog was welcome too and well thoroughly enjoyed himself receiving treats from staff (allowing other to believe he hadn't had any??).Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very inviting.Highly recommended. didn't try their food but will return to do so.

My partner and I went to the pub for a drink, they didn?t have any cider to cater to my partners gluten-free needs and said they only had G&Ts. A double G&T and a pint of peroni cost us £16.80. Total rip-off for a village pub. Disappointing as it?s the only option in the area.

A really disappointing visit for an anniversary lunch. The atmosphere was very flat, the food mediocre and overpriced. Portion sizes a joke. A salad costs around £16.50 and that gets you a side salad sized serving, literally like a child?s portion. Felt totally ripped off. Service like many have already described.

This pub could have everything going for it, location etc but needs an injection of life as it will be forgotten about and end up closing, such a shame if it does because this place could be 5 star with the right menu and a bit more enthusiasm, it could be a jewel in Rutland but until that happens I would probably avoid for the time being save your money and you will avoid disappointment.

A beautiful looking pub from the outside and the bar area was nicely furnished. We got our drinks at the bar and navigated our way outside to find a table in the sunshine (no lights on down the long, dark, corridor which was a bit eery). It?s a lovely, big garden but not overly child friendly. There is what looks to of once been a tiki type bar that?s now boarded up but the entrance was still open to go in where I could see a green petrol can and saw within easy reach which is a bit off putting/worrying with kids around. Chairs a bit rusty (but comfy enough with a cushion), picnic benches wobbly and a lot of bird poop (I know it?s outside but these didn?t look as though they?d cleaned in a while). We ordered our food at the bar and it came in good time. The food was delicious, Greek is my favourite, slighter larger portions for the price would be better, if I got a few more chips and a pitta it would of been perfect. This pub doesn?t proclaim aimed at families but 2/3 kids meals would be a nice option. Overall a pleasant lunch for my birthday.

We stayed here because were attending a wedding nearby. The bridal couple booked out all the rooms for the night before and night of the wedding. Once the owner found out that there was a wedding nearby, the price was doubled. The room was set up well but the owner was so rude and couldn?t have been less helpful. We didn?t order breakfast ( we were not told we needed to when we checked in), so when we turned up for breakfast we were told we couldn?t have any. Given we were there with a two year old and there was no one else there for breakfast, the fact that he turned us away was quite astonishing. Would have been nice if he?d even offered some toast or cereal but it was just a firm no and a reminder that we needed to leave by 10am.

A lovely old pub with a nice garden. We sat on the shady patio to eat. The menu has a mixture of Greek dishes and British classics. We chose the Greek. I had a chicken souvlaki and my partner had lamb kleftico. Both very nice, not huge portions but very filling. Food was a little slow to arrive but we were warned of this beforehand. Landlord was friendly, as were many of the customers (dogs included). I am only sad this is not my local pub!

This used to be my local many years ago and it was nice to return under the new management. It is a lovely building, looking out over a stunning village green, and with an exceedingly pleasant garden with well spaced tables and a variety of plants/flowers. We had a light lunch which was very good. The main bar is much more airy than was the case a few years ago and there is a good choice of beers. Simon, who looked after us, was pleasant and helpful and made sure we were satisfied. My only minor negative point is that sandwiches are not available on Saturdays. All in all this was a nice experience and we will be returning.

Nice, village rustic old pub/hotel. Courtyard car park, large room with bath & shower, comfy decor and tea/coffee. Freshly cooked, tasty breakfast. Friendly and accommodating staff. Evening meals were very good. Pleasant garden which catches afternoon sun. Great area for walking and cycling. No complaints.
