Always a pleasant place to visit, if a bit too tempting for my comfort.. friendly staff but not in your face, non-intrusive, enthusiastic.. good offers and quite a few author events. Children's section is very good and there are toys as well as greetings cards and wrapping paper. How do they fit it all in on one storey and it not feel crowded?

Went in with a friend who was looking for books for their child. Small but well laid out bookstore. Childrens books at far back and new/best sellers on display near the front. Person running the register was extremely nice, helpful and accommodating.

Will never use a waterstones again ...Went into waterstones to see if they could get me a book i was after, the person i delt with on this 1st occasion was a delight, stated they would see if they had in another branch as they didnt have one, and contact me ...So 2nd time in i asked a member of staff if they had found out if one had been sourced, to get a disgustingly stated no we cannot get books sent between stores, she/he / lots of metal work hanging off face,didnt ask if i new i would have to collect from what ever oxford shop had one .. i did.no..no question of my name nor when and who i had discussed this with ... Disgusting attitude ...Ive an extensive library of 1000s of peices of literature none from waterstones and it will stay that way ....

My sister ordered a book three weeks ago and was told she would be contacted when it arrived. Popped in today to be told she hadn't collected it so was on the shelf! When she explained she hadn't been contacted it was implied that she was lying! Poor service today.
