Rooms are very small and extremely hot, duvet not big enough for bed and pillows too hard, pub is lovely and food is good

A nice village pub in the cotswolds. Hoorays from London with their poncy lambos rubbing shoulders with Gerald from clarksons farm. Perfect beer, great food, and good people watching.

Very comfortable rooms, breakfast included, but charged £20 for a night to have our dog with us.

Great location and looks lovely from the outside however very basic for the price you pay. Breakfast was awful. Undercooked hash browns. We ended up leaving most of it. Could be really nice but needs a lot of work. The bathroom had such an awful drain smell.

Not a very good or friendly welcome from owner, he was very stand offish and did not want to talk. The bar was a nice to sit and have a drink, although we had to ask for clean glasses as the owner had used the same ones for the first 2 drinks. Breakfast in the morning was OK, but certainly had better at the other places we have stayed at. Also reading other reviews about stays at this place, don't think they read them as they just give the same response to everyone.

What a great little find!!!
We stumbled across this place purely out of luck, it's a quaint traditional English country pub/B&B run by a lovely Indian family who's customer service was fantastic and to top it off the Indian food was great, the lady even made us a dish that she makes for her son.
The prices to stay are very reasonable and the rooms are well presented and clean.
We will be back ??

Not a great experience. We were given a very small, dingy, dark room in the attic with an awful smell! Not sure whether it was damp or the grotty carpet??.. Had to try and sleep with the word?s tiniest window open all night, to try and dissipate the smell. Plus the duvet on the bed didn?t fit. At least the shower was hot!

Ideal place to stop, outside Oxford, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Curries are good here. Specials board a bit erratic but food good.

Pleasant meal in an airy conservatory at the back of the pub. Good mix of Indian and pub grub for all tastes with gluten free and vegan options. Parking available but make sure you inform the staff, also plenty of street parking. Didn?t feel immediately welcome, perhaps as we interrupted the cricket viewing, and the only cask ale was off but relations warmed as we enjoyed a meal for 7. The pakoras were excellent, the veggie curry was ok, not exceptional but with pappadams/chutney and either rice or a tasty chapatti though perhaps I should?ve gone for the house dhal. Plenty of meat in the meat curries. Good portions of fish n chips and puddings. Overall a good space to enjoy a meal, quiet on a Wednesday lunchtime.

We were very happy to stay at the Checkers Inn! It is a warm place, with very friendly people and cozy rooms. And last but not least, the Indian food they serve is delicious and beats many a restaurant!! Thanks for having us!
