The place to be!

Was seen by Jackie, a very friendly and helpful optometrist who helped me with a contact lens emergency removal. Unfortunately a female colleague on ground floor had provided incorrect information about this service but Jackie provided kind reassurance and performed a removal with minimal fuss, as well as giving me a bit more information on lens type I received a free trial for from another branch and what other types of contacts are available. Very grateful! Thanks Jackie! ?

Staff were very attentive from the moment I entered the store, during my examination and throughout the aftercare. Jacob was an absolute star, really patient and listened to all my concerns and requirements.

I wanted to share some feedback about my recent visit to the Specsavers Witney store. This was my first time at this location, and I was very impressed.
The waiting time was much quicker compared to other Specsavers stores I?ve visited, and the store itself was clean, welcoming, and well-organised. The optician was very friendly, took the time to explain everything in detail, and answered all of my questions thoroughly.
The location is also very convenient, with easy access to parking, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was a very positive visit, and I truly appreciated the excellent service.

I cannot sing this opticians praises highly enough. I attended the minor eye condition service for a problem with my eye which turned out to be a detached retina. I had previously never been in the store. I was greeted with professionalism and kindness from the moment I set foot in there. I was given lots of advice which led me to emergency surgery at the Oxford Eye Hospital. Not only did Sundeep phone me to check on my progress, he also arranged for a pair of specs to be made for me to aid my recovery. The service I have received goes above and beyond and I would not hesitate to recommend this store to anyone. I cannot thank Sundeep, Trevor and their team enough.

A distressing visit to Specsavers Witney.
It all started off well and was seen by a professional young man who was very thorough during the eye test.
When asked about my vision I explained how I can never see as well out of my contact lenses compared with my glasses and my contact lenses are always a bit blurry. He then looked closer at my notes and said due to my stigmatism my contact lense prescription was actually incorrect and should have been picked up by the optician conducting the contact lense check up a year ago. So for a whole year I'd been wearing incorrect contact lenses causing more blurry vision. Understandably, I wasn't best pleased so wanted to speak with the supervisor to complain, this is where things took a turn.
The woman didn't seem too bothered about the situation, she said the optician who did the test a year ago was new but they are fully qualified now as if that was some form of acceptable response? Not even an apology. I said I don't think that's acceptable and it was a failing on their part as I raised my concerns a year ago and was told it could be caused by dry eyes and was told to buy some eye drops. A complete oversight on their part.
I was with my mum during the visit today so my mum reiterated that it's not really good enough and the lady said 'what do you want' so I said I'd expect some sort of gesture of goodwill considering I've been wearing the incorrect prescription for over a year. So she went away, called her manager and offered me 10 contact lenses for free if I place an order. I said I didn't really think that was good enough and asked for the managers contact details which she refused to give and explained to me any sort of goodwill would have to go through her anyway so she can speak to the manager on my behalf. After her lack of empathy during the discussion I didn't see the point in this. I said I'll be taking my custom elsewhere after ordering these lenses which I needed so she asked if she could close my account, I said no I will do it myself after ordering and explained how appalled I was at the lack of responsibility taken for this mistake. She then stood up and abruptly and rudely shouted you can order your own contact lenses online!
On the way out my mum spoke to her calmly and and just explained that it's okay when things go wrong but responsibility should be taken and action to rectify the error. At the end of the day we all make mistakes but it's the actions taken after which count. She did not want to take any responsibility or apologise. She seemed baffled that we'd even complained. She then raised her voice as we were leaving calling us rude so I turned around and said 'you've been rude how you've spoke to your staff as well' as I was leaving. As my mum had been waiting downstairs while I was having my eye test and told me this supervisor lady had been shouting through the shop calling out personal bits of info from patients records - that was the backstory for my comment when leaving.
10 minutes after leaving the store I had a missed call from the store and then another call which I answered and it was the supervisor. She preceded to tell me that she has spoken with her manager and they've closed my account as I 'swore at her' which was a flat out lie. In disbelief I told her that was a lie just hung up on her. I then checked my account when I got home and it was very much still active so I can only assume she called me to attempt to provoke a response. So I've cancelled my subscription myself and will be shopping elsewhere. At best she misheard me, but in all honesty I think it was vindictive and a deliberate lie as she wanted to close my account in store herself so this lie gave her a reason.
Overall, very bizarre behaviour, I can only assume she was having a bad day but having read some other negative reviews on here mentioning a rude supervisor I think it's unfortunately just her. A lack of professionalism letting down the store.

I was horrified to witness such appalling behaviour from the supervisor on duty today towards a young lady and what I assume to be her mother. The way she spoke to them was disgraceful. I for one will be taking my business elsewhere. @specsaverswitney

Terrible Experience! Both myself and my husband got glasses here. My husband's bill is 940 sterling! yes NINE HUNDRED AND 40 for 4 pairs of glasses with false advertising of 2 for one 100 sterling. He was also not happy at all with them and asked for a refund, the shop refused and asked him to drive 1 hour the next day to get a full refund. We intend to pursue this - we are within the 14 days and can send the glasses back to Specsavers Witney. For myself - At every single step of the process they try to upsell and squeeze more money out of you. they sit you down with multiple people. At the end all I needed to do was finalise and pay - the lady was filling this in - my phone rang and as she was filling it in I answered a work call. The rude lady got up and walked off and didnt come back! They just left me there. I thought she was sorting my order.. but no she just walked off because I answered a work call whilst she was completing my order "trying to squeeze more money out of Me" to which I declined at each stage, The apparent owner of the franchise who refused to refund my husband came over and rudely made a comment about Me taking a work call. Suggest you avoid this outlet and find a shop with more honest advertising and decent customer service. We will be pursuing this through all channels.

Optician and lens check great, friendly, helpful and professionalFloor sales staff that are supposed to help you select new frames diabolical, spend more time chatting amongst themselves and trying on glasses than helping customers, I will take my prescription elsewhere. Range of frames not great they are pretty much all the same.
