Received an email suggesting I could be in a better rate account and use ISA wrapper etc.Made three visits to the Witney branch and they either wanted me to go away and do it on line or by telephone.What is the point of having a branch office at all? Indifferent service and waste of time. Just hope I can close it and move elsewhere without more hassle!

Terrible service !!Walking into a empty bank, not clents but Halifax staff .. no one there to help anybody ...Only 1 person serving at a counter Terrible staff ..So i asked a staff member that eventually showed a presents that i need some advise on changing an account from their one savings plan that gives no interest and i wished to now what our options where, to be answered with a very rude voice thst she had to do it if i didnt have power of attorney, so again i sttated i dont want to change it i just wish to know what opptions she had, to be rudley answered again that i needed power of attorney to do this, that i replied im not changing it, im asking about options ......My mum asked me to get option's from Halifax and My opinion givento my mum is to remove your considerable amount of savings to another bank...This is what she has done, TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM THIS BANK ... AVOID

Useless opening hours which prevent anyone with a weekday job from making use of the branch. I?ve also been told the account I opened online, can only be closed in branch which is shambolic.

Moronic opening hours. I work 9-5 and need to discuss my finances with someone in the branch but you close at 3 and aren't open at all at the weekend. Utterly ridiculous.

Impossible to try & make telephone contact direct with your branch, then when get through it is to find your speaking to someone at the other side of the world and they are not able to answer your query as you need to speak to your local branch...

Had a fantastic experience at the Witney Halifax store today. Although it was lunchtime, the young lady serving us went out of our way to be helpful and to meet our needs. Thank you so much.

Ended up complaining because if if experience I had in this branch. Unhelpful staff member put me into a position where I had to say I had lost my card and not just left it at home to be able to withdraw any money. Even though I had ID, was able to answer all security questions and could log into internet banking. Crazy! Lol

Staff are always very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Paying in via the self serve is easy and quick to use.

Waited ten minutes for a woman to ask other people behind me if they were next. When I asked her to please help me as I had been in front she looked unimpressed and told me what I needed would take too long. I said I'd come back tomorrow and she sneered at me - that's the best way to describe her sour face! Perhaps they uphold an ageist policy at this store because she acted sickly sweet to the older customers. Really horrible experience!

Very poor service, only one cashier on long queue, rest of the staff totally oblivious to customers queuing. Very bad....
