Oh dear. This isn't up to B&Q as was. Messy displays, unhelpful staff (too busy nattering to assist) and then one till only open and a lengthy queue.
Hard to see how this can survive. Someone needs to sort this out and get it back on track. Three stars is probably generous.
And five years later 8th July 11.40am it's just the same. Despite self service kit there's one manned till open and a queue of 14 people! AWFUL!

My last resort after Toolstation or Screwfix. Prices are ridiculous and the staff are useless. No help, even if you are struggling with something heavy, and hard to find anyone to get any help.

Organisation and customer service are awful. I occasionally pop in to buy items for work... if the till work. If they do... they are slow. the scanner might be broken. The staff appear to be having a meltdown as the tills crash almost all the time. I love self service, saves me some mundane small talk, but if the tills don't work whats the point? Selection also poor, better to order off amazon and wait if you can.

On a spring bank holiday weekend, traditionally a busy time for DIY, this experience was dreadful. No organisation, long queues and patently obvious lack of interest in customer service, especially shown by the 'floor supervisor' .
