We used Poppy as our mortgage advisor while purchasing our first home (as two completely clueless new buyers!) We had a complex case that was quite the whirlwind from start to finish and a lot of hard work, but Poppy made it happen. She is quite literally a miracle worker and made the process as easy as she could, explaining everything along the way and exploring every avenue until a solution was found. We are so thankful! Would highly recommend anyone use Allen & Harris and specifically Poppy ?

I cannot thank and recommend Poppy enough. As a first time buyer the process seems daunting at first, but Poppy took the time to explain everything upfront and then throughout the entire process, answering each of my questions. To say my case has been complicated is an understatement (through no fault of any of the team), but she remained professional and calm, while still pushing on my behalf. Very disappointing. I have been honest and transparent with Allen and Harris about not selling my property urgently and have told them that I am prepared to wait. They convinced me to decrease my asking price by £10,000.I categorically did not want to do this and was persuaded to do so. A week later they told me that they had sold the property at near enough asking price. One caveat they had not mentioned was that I needed to extend the lease when they made the offer. Prior to selling the property, I had had discussions with the area manager that one option would be to go halves on the lease extension with the buyer. I was happy to do this and not pay for the whole lease extension out of my profits. I am not sure if this was relayed to the buyer.
A week later after I had accepted the offer, which was a huge mistake on my part, I found out that the lease extension could take 6 months to a year. I asked them to go back to the buyer and ask them to pay a negotiated amount where I had dropped the property price by a further £5000 but the buyer would extend the lease. The area manager point blank refused to do so as this would mean the sale would fall through. I have now decided to extend the lease and am deciding on whether I will continue with the sale with Allen and Harris as my 20 week contract period to them should be up soon. I have been told that there are more people enquiring about the property just this morning but Allen and Harris are not acting in my best interest and telling the buyer that the lease extension could take 6 months to a year. They are now denying that I informed them of this. When I asked them what the rush was to sell the property they could not give me an answer. My agent told me that she was not going to have this conversation with me and that she would get the manager to contact me.
