This is such a nice pub! A beautiful golden retriever greets you as you go in and its tucked away nicely. Staff were attentive the landlord seemed a little highly strung but it didn?t ruin the experience.

Lovely country pub. Beautiful setting. Really good walks in the surrounding area. Food was great and service was very friendly and attentive. Perfect destination for a walk and pub lunch.

BE WARNED OF THIS PLACE! There is a vicious ?pub dog? who attacked our dog unprovoked. The owner of the pub then told us we should leave and refused to tie up the dog.
On arrival we were asked if our dog is ok with other dogs and we said yes as he is very calm and friendly, however he is intact and the resident dog did not like this.
They advertise as ?pet friendly?
But please be warned as no family pet should get hurt - without even an apology from anyone there.

Gorgeous place, fantastic beer (Brakespears), nice waitress, somewhat odd landlord. Food OK to good apart from the fish?n?chips which I think is the worst I?ve had - very mean portion of fish and vile batter which was spongy!

The pub is really nice, it has a big terrace for eating and drinking, stopped here with friends for a quick drink on our way to Oxford, sadly, the lady behind the bar was very standoffish for no apparent reason, she seemed very unhappy to help, great venue but not so great service, I wouldn?t go back.

Turned up to find the pub shut for maintenance - please can you update your Google map page and website to indicate when there is a closure so I can avoid a wasted visit in the future.

Just had a really good Sunday roast here, food was delicious, hot and plenty of it, staff helpful and attentive and nice atmosphere, busy but not too noisy or cramped in the restaurant. Definitely will be returning
