Liver and Bacon !! Loved it in this very traditional village pub after some country walks around this interesting village with scattered, large wood carvings of owls. Need to investigate what the owls are for ?!
Vegetarian options: Nut roast etc.

This is one of my favourite pubs. I've been going there for years. The food is delicious. It's a fairly traditional British menu plus some interesting vegetarian dishes, but it's always very tasty, the portions are generous and the prices competitive. I also love the feel of the place. It an ancient pub with wooden beams and interesting things to look at, and a log fire in winter, and a tranquil atmosphere.

What a lovely pub! Eleven of us visited today following a walk/run. Landlady, landlord and all the staff so friendly and welcoming... and the chips were delicious! We will be back!

Pleasent old style pub, full of character. A place mum would be comfortable in with old style music. Nice steak pie, not in dish but very tender meat, and good gravy. Fish was lovely and fresh. Coffee was not pleasant, it was like a sachet, very sweet, no taste of coffee. Apple crumble was overpowered by cloves. So much that my partner couldn't eat even a third and he has a sweet tooth... Even though he mentioned this he still didn't get a discount or alternative offered. But nice barlady. Nice atmosphere if yr older . And want a place to chat.

Friendly local pub, nice and cosy. They had a weekly local game night going in which was interesting as well. Dog friendly and homely food and service.
Vegetarian options: Tagine was really tasty.

Couldn?t be more different to its noisier neighbour pub. Don?t get me wrong, I liked them both but the Wheatsheaf had a bit more quirky character, quiet with old fashioned furnishings but excellent service and a tasty veggie tagine (the only plant based offering) with chunky chips washed down with some lovely Hook Norton bitter for £20. No mobile service but well worth a visit.

I have never really bothered leaving a review in the past but I really wanted to do it for this pub! We stopped there by chance on pur way back from a show in Wantage and they managed to arrange a table for us and our two young kids. The service was great, the waitress was lovely and both my husband and myself really enjoyed our meals. I ordered the lamb shank and it was the best lamb I have had in a decade.Vegetarian options: Lovely nut roast
