It has to be less than average for treating customers like they are going into a sheep dip! I went to pay and then couldn't get out. I was told I had to scan a receipt to leave - this is nonsensical. Why would you be stopping the customers who have paid from leaving! And I had to wait whilst they changed the till roll. Since you have been asking if you want a receipt or not in order to save paper this is a backwards step. It is a bad shopping experience.

As a customer, I'm disgusted with how James, who is a manager at the Wantage store, treats his customers . Should be ashamed . I'd advise not to use Wantage. Staff are nice and helpful, but James pre judges and doesn't care. Out of pocket. Thanks

Probably the most frustrating supermarket I've ever used.They move items round the shop like they're playing a game of hide and seek, every time you go in, they've relocated things and it makes it a constant source of irritation that you can't pop in, grab what you need and get out.Next, the self service. That's all they want you to use now but it's slow, clunky, the machine is constantly messing up and you need to wait for the one person they have manning 20 tills to finish chatting before you get help.The toilets are disgusting, it's no surprise they shut the cafe because the smell of urine from these toilets would be enough to put you off eating for the rest of the week.The worst thing about the place, the obsession over plastic bags. They have 2 sections of self service checkouts with no bags, the single staff member carries them round, clinging onto them like a dragon to gold and the only way to get one off them is to beg. They'll want proof you paid for it, like the bags are destroying the billions of profit they make. If you don't have proof they'll frog march you to the till and stab away at the buttons, just to be sure.I've even been accused on multiple occasions by one lady that I haven't paid for one before, basically of theft and she's demanded I wait until she gets a manager to check, so I just leave.All the barriers, barcode scans and checks just to get out make it one of the most unwelcoming shops I've ever been too and with the ever increasing prices I can confidently say it's now more expensive with lower quality than Waitrose round the corner, where I shop now.
