We visited The Old Post Office as a group of 7 to celebrate a hen do. I had pre-booked the table so we arrived and were seated promptly. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean and relatively busy with a good atmosphere.
We had drinks, main course and dessert. The food was okay. It was nice but nothing extremely special. The ratio of cheese to tomato on the pizza was slightly off. The dessert were also nothing amazing but simply standard quality I would say.
The service was a little slow but we didn't mind as we were just chatting and enjoying the evening as a group. The lights started to go down around 21:15 so we presumed they were closing.
For a group meal in the area it was nice but I am not sure I would visit again purely for the bog standard quality food.

Ordered chicken and ham hockey puff pastry pie, what come did not look like what I had expected but gave it a try, turned out they decided to change the pastry for pizza dough. It was awful, the dough was thick and stodgy and the filling dry. Spoke to the manager who apologised took the meal off the bill and gave me a complimentary drink. The problem was sorted quickly and with out any problems. Has not put me off going again, as staff and service was fine

Just had a very ordinary Capricciosa pizza here, and finding myself wishing I'd gone to Pizza Express. Bland.

What a fantastic pub!!
The food was so nice ( i had steak and eggs) and the others in the party all had different.
Service was second to none and the person serving us went completely above and beyond.
Would definitely go back and i highly recommend this stop for food and drinks.

OPO used to be a local gem with great gastro pub food and drink. But, this Friday night we had the staff getting the Henry out and hoovering and mopping half the restaurant at 8.45pm (?!) whilst the other half of the restaurant were eating, which wasn?t the Friday night ambience you?re after. The food was okay-ish, but half plate portions and quality was mediocre (you?d get better with a high street chain). Maybe it was just a bad, slow evening, but I hope the OPO can find a way through to make it back to the great restaurant it once was

Went to this restaurant with a large group of people for a birthday was a lovely atmosphere great food and amazing staff. I missed the order for food they were quick to get it sorted and the food was great.

We attended a charity dinner and auction at the OPO on Saturday night. Alongside this was a fabulous live band called Taking Hits. The whole evening from start to finish was brilliant. Hats off to the staff for pulling this off. The decorations, set menu and general atmosphere was 5*. Everyone that attended thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I wouldn't hesitate booking to do another evening like this again. ?

I had a fantastic meal recently! The food and drinks were spot on, and everything was clean and well-presented. The service was top-notch too; the staff greeted us with a warm smile and even checked in if we wanted another drink. I?m definitely looking forward to my next visit to enjoy more of the same! If you're after great fish and chips, this place is a must.

Burger and chips were brilliant, profiteroles were lovely and light. There were a few things they?d ran out of on the menu but we did go in fairly late during lunch service.
*Have been again since and it was good but not quite 10/10. Definitely recommend the burgers though.

Friendly staff and a good atmosphere.
I enjoyed my food, some of our group were a little disappointed with their pizza, the Margherita is a little bland.
I had the half chicken with wings and it was excellent, and the kids enjoyed theirs too.
Dogs are permitted in the bar area.

Nice room restaurant with a great menu choice for all diets. Service was poor but it was a busy lunch. Placing a salad under a heat lamp waiting for service to the table was not impressive! Another not hot area for cold food needs to be found. Toilets need a refurb and service checks I.e soap levels but functional. Hand dryer is a bit hit and miss.
