Selling a french house post Brexit is a tricky business. There are tax concessions that your notaire or fiscal representative might not be aware of. Luckily for us, Géraldine from Charles Hamer was! She systematically collected all of the relevant documentation and ended up saving us tens of thousands in unnecessary CGT payments.

Ch Hamer's representative in France, Emilie, was immensely professional and helpful in advising on UK CGT liabilities on (sadly!) the sale of our house in France in 2019, and was then successful in appealing to French tax authorities over tax charged in error on the sale - all at v reasonable cost. Not her fault that it has taken until July 2021 for French tax authorities to make payment!
