Pros
Quirky restaurant (English).
Good atmosphere.
Cons
-Food ( 7 course taster, which was served as 6) was not worth the money.
-The desserts appeared to be left over from afternoon tea.
-Tables were crammed together.
-Only given the option of 18:30 or 20:30 sitting. Went for 18:30 & then were on our own for 30 mins. Restaurant was never full.
-Rolls came with no plates.
-Had to ask for wine list. Only given drinks list with wine by the glass. Rip-off policy?
-Advised by waitress to both choose the same menu (classic/vegetarian) to make it easier for kitchen staff.
-Felt rushed through the whole experience until we pointed this out to the waitress.
-On-line payment system failed (stuck on paying for 5 mins). After paying via their handheld machine found i'd been charged twice. One payment refunded but just discovered for a smaller amount than it should have been & I have to wait up to 5 days for a refund.
-Not asked which options we would like served with a course when there were some on the menu
-When we complained about one of the courses the manager blamed it on the chefs!

I was very disappointed with my room. It was cold and we couldn't adjust the thermostat. The bathroom was very cold and the sink was blocked up a bit. For the money we paid £400 per night not acceptable. On top of that a cooked breakfast is extra. The staff were great and helpful but would not recommend unfortunately.

Awkward uncomfortable dining experience Overrated. very very poor service except for our waitress once we were seated over half an hour late without any acknowledgement or apology! Imagine telling 3 different members of staff you are there for a booking and none really caring... food was mostly good but no better than any other Thai restaurant in the area.

Horrific experience of this business, and their terrible customer service.
They neglected to offer me a refund for a massage I'd booked, despite the fact that:
- I waited for over x5 weeks to have a booking on a Saturday - something that I'd paid extra for
- that after x5 weeks of calling them for a Saturday booking, they incorrectly told me that I did have a booking confirmed for a Saturday
- they then sent me an undecipherable email confirmation for that booking
- they then did not reply to my email asking for a legible booking confirmation to be sent over
- they you let me travel for an hours round trip to come to a booking that, it then transpired, that they actually hadn't made for me as they had mistakenly booked it for a Friday instead of for a Saturday
- that once I had turned up for the Saturday appointment that I had been told had been made, the woman on reception was exceptionally rude to me despite the fact that I had arrived for a booking that their business had made the mistake over, and she tried to deflect the responsibility onto me for - pretty horrific.
I feel that there is something dodgey about them trying to withhold a refund for this massage that I never received, and that it's the very least that they could have offered giving the time consuming nature of having to deal with them, as well as the rudeness of their receptionist.
Thankfully, Groupon, who I had originally made the payment via, have granted me the refund based on the terrible experience of them.
I do not recommend this business, and my instinct tells me that there is something dodgey and not right about their business proceedings, or operations within their business.

I have had the worst experience ever! I have booked this hotel for 29th September for my partner's birthday treat. I had decadence room booked, which is nearly double the price of cosy room and on arrival we have been told that only cosy room is available for us (no bath in the room!) Eventually we had to leave, as I would not pay the maximum price for the room and getting the cheapest one instead. This has messed up our day so much leaving us with massive disappointment and wasted a few hours for travel for nothing... On arrival I have asked to blow some balloons and decorate the room for my partner, which ended up with leaving them behind as we had to leave the room. How can you book a decadence room and been told on arrival that they are fully booked! Such a joke. Never again. Arranging childcare for our daughter at the same time wasn't easy. so much money wasted for travel, childcare and preparations... (cake, balloons etc) :(((((((

Having had my parents stay, then my brother stay at Beaconsfield I was Gifted a voucher for a night?s stay and also a voucher for the 7 course tasting menu by them.
I wanted to let you know how disappointing the whole experience was for us. On trying to book to use the vouchers we called up as asked on the voucher, but it took 3 days before our call was answered, then the person on the phone was very unhelpful or welcoming to help us.
On arrival and parking in the carpark we saw the bus that is reception, and had been told about, however as from the car park you can only really see the top it looked more like it had been abandoned where it sat as the roof was dirty and a window hanging out of its frame.
We checked in and was shown to our room. Room 3 in the attic. We settled in and went for a drink in the bar. We returned to our room to freshen up for dinner. The bathroom was impressive and different in its style, with the novelty of having to duck under a beam to get into the shower area which was very large. Very disappointing to then find a small domestic shower head in this vast area and even more disappointed when turning the shower on to be presented with just a dribble of water. Leaving the shower on for 3-5 mins the pressure finally came up to be able to have a shower but then to find that the shower gel bottle was empty on the wall.
We arrived back in the bar at 7.15pm for our 7.30pm table and was shown straight through to the restaurant. Now baring in mind we had a 7 course tasting menu we were sat, eat and left the restaurant within an hour due to each course being brought straight out one off the other and in one case came out before we even finished the course we was on. We asked twice for it to slow down and have a break between courses but this did not happen.
Now it is time to settle into the room for the night. Having the attic is vert quirky and different and the beams make it a real different experience but there is a couple of flaws in the design. The bedside lights are connected to the main lights, so it was a case of all the lights or none at all and then when wanting to turn off the lights to go to sleep the light switch is at the foot of the bed. Being the attic there is no substantial window, and the bedside lights going off with the main light this leaves the room pitch black, us hunched over so we didn?t hit our head on the overhanging beams and fumbling in the dark to get into bed.
We rise the next morning to get ready for breakfast and it takes another 3-5 minutes this time to get any hot water to come through in the shower.
We arrive into the bar to be met by the staff how says follow me. While walking through the bar and to the restaurant, still facing forwards while we follow behind, he say what?s your room number? This felt really rude as we are now talking to the back of his head. Arriving at the top of the stairs we get told ?sit where you like? and he walks off. Throughout our breakfast the service was unfriendly and like he was just going through the motions. It made my partner feel so uncomfortable he wanted to leave before we had event eaten breakfast.
On check out the lady asked if we had a nice stay and we told her how disappointed we had been with the whole experience and was asked to write this email.

Dreadful meal. Made to wait for our table for almost an hour. Tables were empty. It was not busy. Premises is dirty. No table cloths. Waiting staff didn't know the menu. Chees plate was a joke at £25 and was promptly returned. Do not recommend for dinner.

The area and location is just beautiful and the service is top class. The workers there are really helpful and are super outstanding . The rooms are clean to a high standard and me and my family had tons of fun . The kids love the scenery aswell
