The Prince of Wales was recommended to us at the local golf club and we were very pleased we went. The pub was welcoming as were the staff who went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our visit. The Landlord (Ben) was extremely helpful and lovely to chat to. The food was very good at a fair price - we will be back when next in the area.

After a quick search for dog friendly pubs in Shrivenhamn, my Dad, brother and my mutt popped into the Prince of Wales on the spur of the moment for a couple of pints and a bite to eat...it ended up making my day!The first thing that struck me was how welcoming the landlord was. He greeted us like old friends, and we instantly felt part of the furniture. So much so that I remarked how rare it is to wander into a random pub nowadays and get such a warm welcome from the publican. Definitely putting the hospitable back into hospitality!Secondly and perhaps more impressively, whilst stood at the bar I made an off hand comment about a bad pint of 6X I'd had in a different pub earlier in the week and hopefully this one would be better! To his credit chap went and poured what can only be described as a STELLAR pint.We then got chatting about beer and my weakness for a pint of 6X he turned up at our table with a bottle of Wadworth's 100th Anniversary special run of 6X and a glass with his compliments! Not only was I taken aback by this random act of kindness, but it genuinely made my day!So with that I'd just like to say to the landlord that you're a credit to yourself and your establishment, we had a lovely meal, in great surroundings with superb service and we can't wait to come back! Oh and the 6% version is OUTSTANDING, thank you so much, it has been savoured!

This is the lovliest pub!I used to live just outside Shrivenham, and I long to move back, and this pub is a part of the reason why. Friendly, excellent service, great food, fab music and quiz nights, the regulars are friendly, the staff are more like friends. It?s just my fave place. And then there?s Remy, the pub dog. She gives the best cuddles if you bribe her with dog treats!

This is a jewel of village pub here in Shrivenham. The quality of food is exceptional and unexpectedly good for a small local pub.The Fish and Chips couldn't be better !I consider myself a connoisseur of Fish and Chips. I haven't come across a single establishment in the country, where the chef has got this dish so right as the Prince of Wales.Even the mushy peas and tartar sauce were tasted extra special.Congratulations to all involved in making this pub a real special "happy place" in charming Shrivenham !

Such lovely staff!Celebrated a birthday here, the main reason for coming to this pub was because the birthday man is a big fan of 6X beer. The owner and staff must have caught wind of this as they gifted him a box of premium 6X beer as a gesture of goodwill to celebrate!Lovely atmosphere, great staff - would recommend and hope to return in the future.

What a find !!We live in portugal these days and the one thing missing is real ale, more specifically 6X, so our birthday get together was to be based around a Wadsworth pub. We stayed nearby and visited 3 times, we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Firstly, the welcome every time was super friendly by staff and locals alike. Secondly, the atmosphere was cosy and warm, just what we needed when it was -9°C outside! Then there is the food....we had the most delicious breakfast with the greatest sausages one day, we had a fabulous lamb kofta curry on the quiz night and we had a Sunday roast with the crispiest potatoes and the BEST yorkshire puddings! Mustn't forget to mention the beer of course, which is kept perfectly and went down a treat !The Prince of Wales is an absolute gem of a place, it is everything you could wish for in an old English public house.Thankyou so much for your hospitality.

Since Ben and Hayley have taken over this place it?s become a weekly regular for us.The food is great, the atmosphere is bustly, the landlords are so lovely and accommodating. It?s dog friendly and the open fire is perfect for winter evenings whilst the beer garden is the one for the summer. They?ve got a vast menu and lots of live music.Definitely the only place I?d spend an evening in shrivenham.
