I had a very disappointing experience at the Vision Express branch in Oxford. I first visited the store on Friday to return a pair of glasses, but was told that only a manager could process returns and the manager was not available. I left the glasses with the staff, who assured me I could simply call the next day to speak with the manager and that I wouldn?t need to be in the store to complete the return.
When I called the following day, I spoke directly with the manager. He informed me that I would need to be present to sign the return paperwork and asked me to come in that same day, since he would not be working after Saturday. I confirmed the closing time with him, and he told me the store shut at 6 p.m. However, when I arrived just 40 minutes later, I was told the manager had already left.
A colleague then processed my return within minutes by simply asking for my name and postcode, pressing a button, and finalising it. I was never required to sign anything, which made it clear that my trip to the store was unnecessary and my time had been wasted.
The staff appeared uncertain of procedures and unable to resolve issues without the manager, which only added to the frustration. From the beginning, I have experienced repeated problems with Vision Express, and this incident was the final straw. Overall, the service was poorly managed, unhelpful, and I would not recommend this branch to anyone.

Too much marketing and annoying unnecessary costs. Exploitative. Recommend eye test but avoid retail pressure.

Vision Express Oxford speedily fitted a new frame to my glasses when I dropped in with a broken frame - not expecting to get them back after minutes.

Jo was really helpful and patient with my difficult prescription and with what I was requesting. She went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I needed. I would highly recommend.

The optician was polite and efficient. The sales assistant was polite. I was charged more than double what I paid 2 years ago, without glasses, just for lenses. I was told my glasses would be ready in a week ,when it's actually nearly 3. I will be taking my prescription elsewhere next time

I came in for my scheduled contact lens fitting after ordering them, but ended up waiting for about 30 minutes without anyone approaching me. Staff seemed busy and unresponsive, e.g. the phone at reception was left ringing. I eventually left without being seen. Disappointing experience, especially after a very positive initial assessment hence 2 stars). Poor customer service overall

Testing was good, no Toilets, which for a two hour visit is poor as is a two week wait for the glasses. Am considering the next day delivery advertised on TV
