Dan was incredible! Incredibly friendly, unbelievably inviting, implacably accommodating. He was clearly busy with many tables and still took the time to talk to us and make us feel at home. The food, to boot, was spectacular and fairly priced! I will be coming here a lot more. Table 84 sends its thanks

Great food and catered for allergies. Good selection of beer & cider. The staff were so helpful and nice to chat to. The garden is lovely to sit out in. There is plenty of seating inside which looked lovely too but was too nice a day to be indoors. Worth booking ahead.

Met up with my wife's friends, that she went to university with. Off the beaten track, but great kitchen in the river. Dog friendly, bonus. Plenty of choice on the menu and food was lovely. Plenty of seating in and outside. You can walk along the river as well.

Had an excellent pork roast in the beustiful garden. Glad we made a reservation. Service was a bit slow at times but to be expected considering how busy it was. We were in no hurry anyway.

Fantastic place , really worth a visit . Our waiter Umberto was first class. Only problem Sunday roasts ran out at 4.30pm - shame can?t keep them going longer .

Fish had some soggy batter, chips were undercooked, definitely too soft, the best thing about the meal were the freshly prepared peas and tartare sauce. Oh and don?t order the only lager they sell, it?s flat like an ale, yuk. They don?t accept cash. Won?t be back.

Update after the second visit. We brought friends to the pub today to share our find and, generally , had a very good time and food was also good - all were happy with their choices. What tinted my experience slightly today was that when I asked for desert spoons/forks , we were first brought soup spoons, then main course forks and then I was suggested that ? we don?t do desert forks / spoons in England?. Firstly, it?s not true of course; secondly, referring to my accent and implying I was clueless was unnecessary and uncalled for.
We stayed for lunch, had amazing experience. Fish was fresh and not dry, sauce was tasty, service is attentive and very pleasant, atmosphere relaxing - highly recommend the place.

It was a great walk to get there, and the grounds of the pub were immaculate. But there really wasn?t much of a food offering and what we ended up getting didn?t really impress us that much.

We had lunch at the Perch today. The food was excellent, but what really set it apart was the service. We had our 16 month old daughter, and having walked from Oxford up the river, a wheel broke on her pram leaving us in a difficult position for getting back home. Our waiter Frank took it upon himself to fetch some screws and fix the broken wheel. We successfully got back to Oxford thanks to him, turning a tricky situation into something really heart warming. Great to know theres good people out there who will go above and beyond to help others.

We recently had our wedding reception at the Perch and could not recommend it highly enough. Emily and her team were an incredibly well-oiled machine and made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, and they thoughtfully considered every detail in a way that took a lot of the pressure off us. We had the most special and memorable day, from the delicious food to the beautiful decorations, and the calm, professional way the staff managed everything. We couldn't have asked for a better team and were very impressed. Thank you Emily and the Perch team!!!
