A place to get everything I need that doesn't make me feel like my soul is rotting away (cough Amazon). The staff are always very helpful and chatty and it seems like a genuinely nice place to work. Very happy to spend my money there as a result.

For Christmas I was given a hand held blender, bought from Robert Dyas in Oxford, by my daughter who lives in Portugal. She gave me a Gift Receipt from Robert Dyas in case it was not what I wanted. I already have a similar blender so attempted to take it back, only to be told that I could not be reimbursed without the card used to buy it. My daughter has already left so that's not possible.I asked for a credit note, which is standard practice in this situation, but this was also refused. Instead I was offered to exchange the product for something else - which is not helpful as I don't have any idea of what I would like to exchange it for. This is very upsetting and unhelpful. What is the point of issuing Gift Receipts if you cannot use them to return unwanted gifts?

I visited the shop this afternoon. I only needed one small nut. The staff at the counter was so helpful, friendly, and patient even though I was only making a small purchase. I forgot to ask her name but she's really wonderful. She also asked if I'm a student and gave me student discount even though it was just one nut. It was such lovely experience when the staff is this great.

Me and my partner love this store, it has literally everything and we only came in for an air cooler and came out with so much more, definitely coming here when it comes to moving home, staff are absolutely lovely too
