After a 2 hour drive for an appointment we visited the M&S cafe for a much needed snack lunch. We weren?t expecting gourmet, just a nice sandwich and coffee as most M&S cafes are able to provide. There was little choice at 12.45pm so chose a ready made roll, a bacon roll, 2 pieces of cake and 2 cappuccinos one made with coconut milk. The bacon roll was tiny, one coffee was returned and replaced due to being undrinkable, the coffee made with coconut milk went in the bin because it was so bad. The cakes were edible. The service was not good. On one of the hottest days of the year there were no bottles of water but apparently they were available in the shop next door. Never again will we use the cafe when we visit the hospital for upcoming appointments. Just awful. Not quite lost my faith in M&S as a whole but this cafe is dreadful.

Stopped for a sandwich as I had time to spare. Food is okay as you would expect from M&S but none of the 3 members of staff even looked at me as I was paying , they just carried on chatting and laughing together. Not the welcoming environment I would've hoped for when I was already in a stressful situation.

The cleaner with the cat hat was very helpful with helping me find what I needed despite not being a staff member. Maybe you should hire him. Also he's very charming

Nice little corner of the JR Hospital for a posh snack, ready meal orcheery-up treat. My criticism is that as a gluten free special dilatory needs..the two choices I had for a sandwich or wrap contained milk. In a hospital environment can we please have an option for the doubly afflicted, life is seriously difficult enough. Recently service station M&Ss have offered me amazing gluten and dairy free choices such as chicken and salad as a sandwich and duck with hoisin wrap, both firm faves. Many thanks for your otherwise lovely shop. H

Just bought some prepared mango today dated 28.03. It tasted like it was starting to go off. Went back to the shop with it literally half an hour later. The manager Sanjeev told me he would happily chuck it in the bin but was not willing to refund without a receipt. I used my card to pay and could easily provide proof of payment via my bank statements but he was unwilling to have that conversation. Very disappointing and will not be returning

Coffee and cheese toastie were nice, but very overpriced. Cost me £8.50 for a Latte and a toastie. It makes sense though because its a Cost of Living Crisis so they need to raise prices to pay their staff more. Im sure the staff are on a lot and the profits arent going to the big boss of M&S ;)

They don't accept returns here, even though the M\\u0026S website states they should. Everything else is good.

I'm working in hospital and if you want to buy baguette for breakfast, forget it !!!! The rolls was ready after 12 for lunch !!! The staff at this bakery just yawns and stretches.... Drama ?

Nice to have onsite,loses a star for the price of sandwiches etc. £4.25 is exorbitant for a ham and cheese sandwich.

Extremely nice lunch and especially liked the watermelon!\\nAlso thought it was thoughtful to have pyjamas and baby food as well as nice looking gifts :)\\n\\nIf you want somewhere to sit that?s not looking out onto the ambulance bay, go into the Japanese garden around the back of the M\\u0026S.

Staff very rudely said I have to pick up my entire click and collect order as they don't accept returns. Which doesn't make sense because if I had never showed up I would have got the money back.

I would like to know how a business like M & S in a hospital environment can sell sandwiches that are out of date. I was at a meeting at this hospital today and bought a chicken sandwich! After I had eaten half of it I happened to look at the date on the sandwich and it was out of date by a day! I was visiting a hospital, I really did not want to perhaps by eating an out of date chicken sandwich be a patient!! This was the M & S Café! I work in the healthcare arena and the lack of concentration to detail is frankly disgusting and not what I would expect from M & S. And all they did was refund me the money, no apology. Can you imagine if I was a venerable person who ended up with food poisoning, I called their customer services but they just cut me off!!! Shame on you M & S, especially in a hospital environment, Surely you check the sell by dates? Obviously not!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very angry with M & S for their lack of care and diligence! Come on, its not difficult to remove the out of date sandwiches off the shelf before you open in the morning!! Disgusted with you. Thanks for the £4 back, lets hope I don't end up with food poisoning from the out of date chicken!, or you could be facing a much larger bill!!!

Rude and unpleasant service in the restaurant although lots of staff. Unfortunately staff are preoccupied by complaining about their work and customers.
