It's over priced and a poor selection.

I was informed by some people outside the store that Co-op have refused to take on a higher animal welfare policy for their chickens while other retailers, such as M&S, have. Low welfare chickens - 'Frankenchickens' - suffer such unnecessary pain yet Co-op continues to sell them. If you support animal welfare improvements, avoid the Co-op!

This supermarket is supporting cruelty to chickens by allowing Frankenchickens to be used in their supply chains. Other options are available, such as switching to breeds with higher welfare outcomes. I won't be shopping here again until they do the right thing.

After becoming a member of the co-op, attending the AGM last year in which over 90% voted to implement the Better Chicken Commitment, I thought it would happen. Unfortunately, this has not been the case, putting profit before the wishes of their members.

Thanks to some kind people speaking to customers outside this store, I know better now than to believe Co-op when it claims to be an ethical retailer - selling the lowest welfare "Frankenchickens" while pretending to be a leading brand is nonsensical. Don't believe Co-op when it tells you its "Space to Thrive" range means high welfare - it doesn't!

Some campaigners outside told me about the Co-op not signing the Better Chicken Commitment (like M&S and others) and their continued use of Frankenchickens.apparently 96% of their members voted to sign the BCC and change to a kinder breed. I?m appalled at Co-op for ignoring their members and selling such cruelty. I had no idea. I buy their own-brand products as they?re not tested on animals so I thought they were ethical all round

Today I learned the sad reality of chickens in Co-op?s supply chain :?( it?s really unacceptable! There were protestors outside of Co-op today handing out flyers and educating customers that Co-op is still selling Frankenchickens (the breeds of chickens that are bred to grow unnaturally fast unnaturally quickly.) Co-op is supposed to be an ethical retailer so this is really disappointing. Please urge Co-op?s executives to stop selling cruelly bred Frankenchickens.

Employees made offense joke directed at me. Employees were talking with another customer in a very unprofessional manner. When I walked past the customer and he pointed at me and said 'his mum' I didn't hear what he had said before this, however I could tell it wasn't anything pleasant. In response to this two of the coop employees burst out laugh calling the man hilarious. I understand the store has no control over its customers. However, I don't believe employees representing the store should be encouraging and joining in on this type of behaviour.

I don't think I've ever been in while it's been well stocked - the sandwich fridge in particular is always near-empty. I typically go in midday.
