Stopped here with the kids after a little walk. Been before and food was good, but today the food was great!
Oftentimes, side dishes of vegetables are too crunchy or boiled so much they just taste of water. HWM today gave us something seasoned perfectly - finished in butter without impacting the natural flavour. The accompanying cottage pie was rich and delicious with perfectly prepared and cooked peas and carrots inside.
When asked how the food is, the English way is to always say 'its lovely'. Today, we giggled and grinned when letting them know because it was true.
We're quite snobby when it comes to food. Easily disappointed. This was the best meal in a very long time.

Our friends were over from Australia and The Highwayman Inn was my first choice to take them. Food as per was fabulous, the servers were helpful and friendly.

The Highwayman is a fantastic British pub in the heart of Oxfordshire with a magical terrace and garden and its dog friendly too! What sets it apart however is the service, a fantastic menu with spectacular dishes is served by attentive and knowledgeable staff with character and professionalism. The Monday pizza is a great addition to an already wonderful venue. Thanks to Lou and her team.

A truly superb pub, we visit many. Stunning garden, great restaurant, dog friendly, delicious menu, great chefs and the two boys serving today, (Sunday 1st Sept 2024) , exceptional service! As always a really lovely day out with our pup. Thanks. We always love visiting

Great food and even better service. The atmosphere was great, very friendly and family oriented. The food was very tasty and enjoyable. I think the best part was our waiter Billy who was attentive and had a great sense of humour and made us feel welcomed from the minute we sat down! The boy deserves all the tips and praise as he made our evening.
