I live close to Piccolino in Henley and often walk in with my husband, last weekend we noticed much more detailed and attentive service with more Italian presence which definitely helps the quality and ambience.
As an Italian my self I would highly recommend .

After our much-loved and much-frequented Piccolino closed in Wimbledon years ago we were looking forward to trying it again on a visit to Henley.
The restaurant decor is trendy and our reception welcoming. It is a surprisingly large restaurant but as it was a Sunday evening, only a few tables were occupied. Yet despite the fact that only a few tables were taken we waited far too long to be seen. What struck us, as we were waiting, was the accumulation of glasses and cups on a bar with no one bothering to clear them to be cleaned; likewise the tables around us which weren?t cleared after guests had lefts.
Once we finally ordered four simple drinks (no cocktails) we waited close to 30 minutes for them to arrive. In the end we decided to leave after a brief chat with the manager who gave us the olives and water for free as an apology. He seemed out of his depth.
It seems to us that Piccolino in Henley is under resourced with poorly trainee staff and weak management. We were sorry to see that Piccolino had gone down so much from how we remembered it all those years ago in Wimbledon Village.

We had a great lunch here and were looked after by Tai, who was very pleasant and had a great service style. Brilliant fried calamari and excellent pastas washed down with lovely Italian white wine. Of course the desserts winked so we had the sharing platter. Will definitely go back and recommend it to our friends.

Great decor, overall the food was well presented and tasty.
Service, particularly front of house, was poor. Front of house was dismissive and verging on rude. A member of our party ordered a bottle of champagne whilst in the bar, we were then shown to our table and it took another 20 minutes before it actually arrived. Service overall was lacking.
I ordered branzino, the menu stated that it came with roast potatoes, it arrived without, I queried it, the waiter went to check with her manager who stated that actually it didn?t but they could provide some (at extra cost). I didn?t pursue as didn?t want to make other members of our party uncomfortable.

Absolutely fabulous! Service was fantastic and the staff were so attentive and couldn?t have done more for us. Very good with my gluten and dairy intolerance too. Food was great too. Would highly recommend.

there was a sizeable shard of glass in my wine and once pointed out, was made to feel as if I?d put it there. Serious health and safety risk that the staff shrugged off. Food was good though, but eat at your own risk!

We are so happy to have Piccolino in Henley. It is our new favourite spot. We?ve been to Piccolino twice, both times at the weekend. There wad a great atmosphere and the staff were brilliant. We were lucky enough to be served both times by Remo, who was as professional and attentive.

Nice restaurant and delicious meals.
Our dining experience at Piccolino Henley was truly exceptional. The highlight of the meal was the 1kg Fassona steak, incredibly tender and full of flavor?a true indulgence. Our waiter, Damir, made the evening unforgettable with his outstanding service. His extensive wine knowledge and attentiveness added a special touch to our night.

Had a fabulous dinner at the restaurant the other day. We ordered Dover Sole, which was fresh and very tasty. Our waiter Damir was efficient, and gave us good service. Will be sure to visit again sometime.

Our 4 year old was very well taken care of.
Kid-friendliness: All staff were very welcoming and lovely with our 4 year old and he loved the food and the colouring pencils.

I had a very nice time at this restaurant. I had the wagyu steak with my partner, and it was excellent. A big thank you to my waiter, Damir, who was attentive and friendly. I will be paying another visit.

Dined with family in the terrace area. Our waiter Damir was attentive and knowledgeable. We loved the food, and all had a great time.
