Lodging in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

“This is a lovely, family-run pub with a terrific breakfast. We stayed in Cherry which was very comfy with separate access from the pub, tea-making things, piping hot water. We had a very nice chat with Dan over the Full English and smoked salmon with scrambled egg. Ditto with a one of couple of non-residents who came in for breakfast too. Stoke Row has a fascinating history with its ornate well and cherry orchard given by an Indian maharaja and the surrounding beech woods are fabulous, specially at this time of year. “Possibly the best proper pub in Henley. Unspoilt inside, well kept beer and popular with locals. Lovely beer garden for summer days and rated highly for Sunday lunch. Slightly tucked away from main street but well worth a visit.”

“Stayed here for a night away and it was wonderful. Yes you would expect the food to be good, it was great. Beautiful clean and lovely room. But what stood out was the service.... from reception, the bar, checking out were friendly and professional. Couldn't do enough. Special mention to the two guys in the restaurant, helpful and friendly and just great.oh breakfast was served well too. Think you get the message. Clearly a very well managed team of happy workers”
