Lovely pub. Andy and Naomi great people. Ordered lunch and take away. Food was great as usual husband loved the takeaway of Steak and Ale pie, mash and peas.

An ideal location directly opposite the entrance to Didcot Parkway station. We picked it as a central location from 3 different places and it worked very well. A friendly welcome, tasty lunch with plentiful portions. Warm and friendly atmosphere.

Large Greene King pub handily positioned directly opposite Didcot Parkway station. Quite capacious, bright and comfortable inside, although the some wear and tear is evident. The seats of the tall chairs that we used near the door were black and shiny from excessive use. Barely a dozen other punters in residence when we visited on a weekday lunchtime. Only one draught beer on offer - a rather tired and somewhat lukewarm Greene King IPA. Main food menu is standard pub fare, although the sharers and light bites looked rather more intriguing. We were forewarned of a 35 minute wait when ordering as a couple of requests had just got in before us. At the time there were 7 people in the room not eating Our meals did turn up almost exactly 35 minutes later. My selection of BBQ chicken had been covered with bacon and cheese then nuked and welded in a microwave. This was placed on an enamel tray and surrounded by onion chutney, before being put on a plate together with chips and onion rings. The chicken itself was tender; the sauce more tangy than BBQ and it was all quite edible in a dull way. My pal's scampi and chips looked far more fresh and appealing, once more within enamel tray on the plate - must be a signature thing. The lady working the bar when we arrived was commendably cheerful although she disappeared once we had ordered. Her colleague wasn't quite as jolly. Overall, this place served its purpose as far as we were concerned so it was quite convenient in that respect.

I visited Didcot for the day with some friends & we stopped of at The Prince of Wales pub Didcot, for drinks in the afternoon. The staff were friendly & the service was good. I had the BBQ chicken meal which was excellent! I?m sure next time we visit Didcot we will stop off again at this pub!

Stopped in for lunch with the family, the food was served quickly and was great, staff were friendly and accommodating, would definitely return.

We visited last Wednesday lunchtime and the pub was not very with only a few drinkers. It took a while to get any service as the barmaids were more interested in their phones. We had our 5 year old granddaughters with us and we ordered two macaroni cheese and a steak and ale pie. After 30-35 minutes I went to enquire about our food as the children were getting restless. Again it took a while for the barmaid to put her phone down and said she would go and enquire of the kitchen. She came back and said a further 30-45 minutes. I asked why so long to which she replied ?that?s just what they said ?. That would have meant a wait of 1 to 1.25 hours when the pub was not busy. She saw the exasperated look on my face she immediately offered a refund. I decided to ask for some crisps instead but there were no plain crisps only 1 salt and vinegar and 2 sweet chilli. My suggestion is if you are looking for a meal severed in a reasonable time then go elsewhere. Not a good advertisement for Greene King.

Popped in the prince of wales whilst waiting for a connecting train and got food, really friendly staff and the chicken sharer was amazing! Will definitely stop here again the next time I?m in the area!
