The Butchers Arms was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint, it exceeded our expectations. That evening we booked a return visit for the following week for the fish platter (we understand it's only offered during August), which turned out to be the best we had ever had!
N.B. The price range given was for the first meal and drink; the second fish meal was more.

We found this local country pub and decided to try the Sunday roast. What a treat! Loads of vegetables perfectly cooked, crispy Yorkshire pudding, chicken for my mum and the vegetarian option for me, and very reasonably priced. The cauliflower cheese side was delicious. Chef Andrew cares a lot about serving quality food, and the servers were very attentive. Will definitely be back, maybe in the summer to sit in the lovely garden area.

We had a lovely Sunday roast here. The kids loved using the play area while our food was prepared and they also loved their meals (the chips were nice and crispy). The roast was delicious with the chicken being a highlight, as well as the cauliflower cheese. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We strongly recommend a visit.
Kid-friendliness: The kids meals were of a high standard and they have an outdoor play area.

Was not on our list, but we ended to have dinner here and was lovely. We appreciate the fact the chef came to ask us if we like the food, if we want something else. Too bad the weather was not perfect to stay outside and enjoy the meal,

Had a great lunch here yesterday - 2 lamb Sunday roasts, 1 mushroom and spinach Wellington, all served with roast potatoes, parsnips, veggies and gravy; our 4th family member had fish and chips. Ok, so the service was a little slow due to chef making the batter from scratch. But it was obviously all home -cooked and we were kept up to date by the pleasant and attentive lady behind the bar. So, why wasn?t it busier? Locals - passers by - use it or lose it!

Was once a wonderful dog friendly and customer friendly pub with decent fare at a decent price. So the energy crisis saw the last landlord up sticks to be a handyman in Norfolk and I wondered if any new owners would change much. The answer is no ? it looks and feels much the same apart from what I hope was an isolated incident but I fear is the norm. My attendance was mid afternoon and the only other customers in the bar were four or five middle aged locals I guess. Nothing wrong apart from the sailor blushing language that emanated from them in an almost constant stream for the entirety of my stay. F and C and any combination you care to think of at a loud volume without a care that others may find it very rude and quite frankly boorish. I know drinking customers spend money but in fear of having to endure an atmosphere like this again I regret that I will probably not be going any more. It?s a pity because I like the pub and I like the beer and food.
