Google maps identifies a parking area (layby 2/3 cars) just to the west of the village. From there cross a small plank "bridge" into a wooded area on the hillside (see photo). Clearing the trees you see the windmill on top of the hill to the South West. Walk at the side of 2 fields to a metal kissing gate. Windmill is just beyond (You can also approach from the opposite direction) Well worth the walk up, 1 mile+, can be muddy. Imposing structure plus countryside views in all directions . No one else present on a March Saturday, early afternoon

What is there not to like about visiting this site?

It is well worth the effort to visit this historic windmill. The views are quite special even on a grey day if you have binoculars you can see for miles. This was our New Years Day walk and we followed the way marked path it was about five miles in total to the windmill and back. There had been rain and the path was extremely muddy in places. You will need good warm clothes and sturdy footwear is essential. It is best to take your time in these conditions and we had our waterproofs just in case. The windmill is not open to the public and at the time of visit the sails were not turning.

Nice views at the top. Park in lay-by outside town and follow path to the top. Is quite a steep walk.

Tysoe windmill is a beautiful north Cotswolds location to walk the dog, go for a stroll, watch a sunset, or stay for the night time to view the magnificent dark skies above.

Great place to go for a walk and fantastic views! There are two different Footpaths leading up to the Windmill, one being slightly steeper and shorter than the other. Lovely views at the top, and this landmark can easily be incorporated into longer walks and loops in the surrounding area. Parking in Lay-bys are available next to both Footpaths leading to the Windmill if you are driving to it.

Quite a walk to get to the windmill, but well worth the effort. Beautiful 180° views
