Came to this establishment on Monday during Cheltenham race week. Haven?t been here before but with so many pubs shut we chose the burford house hotelThe menu is very pub menu which is greatI had southern fried chicken sand which which is so tasty and tender and my partner had bacon Brie and cranberry which also was really nice. Service is very friendly and efficient will be coming back soon.Food & drinks: Reccomed the southern friend chicken sandwhich it?s amazing

Ok, so this is a tiny hotel so it's never going to warrant lots of stars, the bar area is nice, but you have to go for breakfast at its sister hotel two doors down, and the rooms are a little tired, and would benefit from a makeover. My bed was not comfortable although it looked impressive. The town is lovely although busy with traffic. The Breakfast was very nice full English although they gave it another name.

Room was dirty, shower mouldy and rusty. Bathroom door did not close and neither did bedroom door. Moved rooms as no-one really interested in coming out to fix the lock. New room bigger but just as grubby. The window frames were completely rotten and one window did not close, glass also broken The door looked as if it had been kicked in. No toiletries or toilet roll provided and glasses and spoons were greasey. The toilet did not have a sink in to wash hands. There were cobwebs handing from the ceiling and an old mattress under the bed. £165 a night for 5 star accommodation- lesson learned when asked to pay for the room as soon as you walk through the door - check the quality of the room before you hand over the cash.

The most amazing food, literally in the top three places I've ever been to. We had lunch and the lamb kofta just dissolved and the arancini were so light. Combined with a nice choice of beers and reasonable prices this made a nice change to the sometimes extortionate and pretentious Cotswolds.Food & drinks: Please see main comments.

I assumed the price for the room had risen as it was a bank Holiday weekend but I have looked at a few weekends over the year and the price seems to be the same. For the price, the room isn't worth it at all. The bathroom was very worn with the taps being broken and plaster falling on in the shower area. I felt dirtier coming out of the shower than when I went in. The glasses in the room were dirty. I guess you are paying for the location of the guest house but the rooms could do with some tlc.

This is not an hotel. It is a glorified boarding house and incredibly overpriced. The road outside our bedroom was the equivalent to a 20 mph motorway. It never stopped. You can't sleep. The noise just echos down the road forever. The bed mattress was seemingly made of hardened straw as were the pillows. Very old scratchy bed linen. Abysmal. The toilet leaked all night. Every night. One morning we were all sent down the road to another establishment for breakfast because the chef didn't turn up. There were no staff in the place from approximately 5pm onwards. How is that an hotel? There is no parking. Burford is one giant car park and you have to move your vehicle around whenever you can for the parking. Worst place I have ever stayed in by far. Incredibly uncomfortable place.

Bar area is great the staff professional. But I booked a 5 star accommodation so when going to my room I don?t expect the following. Bathroom ceiling having cracks and mould on it, shower tiles and ceiling mould on it. The shower was warm at most. Bedroom door looked like it was kicked in. Unfortunately I will not be staying at this hotel again.see photos

We booked the Burford House hotel at a rate of £150 per night through Booking .com and it was diabolical. Boasting a 5 star- rating-which it is not! Definitely closer to 2 Star as it had a bed and running water. I wonder at the vetting process and checks and balances in place currently as both of your companies need to update your processes pronto! The reason that potential patrons use your company is for an unbiased report to ensure peace of mind. Otherwise, confidence in any of your ratings will be ridiculed and therefore not trusted. Burford House Hotel, notably the Windrush Room, that my wife and I unfortunately stayed in, was without doubt an appallingly unkempt and unclean hostel like accommodation. I did not expect to pay a week?s salary for mould in the bathroom, and on the window sill, and the curtains. there was grot in the tile grouting in and out of the shower area, cracked cistern tiles and pan, stained mattress and divan, and both windows had not been cleaned for weeks, with similar conditioned carpets, and one two inch soap for the duration of our stay. I felt cleaner going in the bathroom that I felt when I exited. Even the toilet paper was substandard and so narrow that you would need the accuracy of personal geographical co-ordinates of one?s derriere to avoid any mishaps -and then you?d definitely need more than the miniscule dollop of carbolic to help you out of the mire!!! Your business really needs to up its game as many loyal customers who trust and rely on your advice and reviews, will soon disappear. I trusted your opinions and found them to be completely opposite to reality. To a degree, you as a company must bear some responsibility for not diligently making checks on the details printed on your site. Many people, in fact all, that use these facilities currently, will be more than disgusted and would have a valid right to expect a refund from the proprietor. If one has an allergy to mould, this room could be detrimental to one?s health. To say that I am repulsed by the uncleanliness of the accommodation and the bathroom facilities, would be more than an understatement. The initial welcome was poor as the reception was closed (noted in the fine print to be fair) and the bar was closed, and dark and any accompanying facilities were not available to weary travellers. Breakfast was, to be fair acceptable enough, though the general debris behind the near by radiator did not radiate a sense of cleanliness or high levels of hygiene -further emphasised by the sticky tables and I found that glasses, cups and cutlery inexplicably, adhered to the surface. The outside escape route looked uncared for and possibly slippery due to lack of maintenance and the outside garden area looked uninviting and I could see that the tables and chairs needed a scrub as what seemed like moss had gathered and made the option to sit outside, generally unappealing. The area is beautiful without a doubt and I could see a similar description could have been, some time ago mind, attributed to Burford House. We will always return to Burford, but unfortunately, not to stay at this particular establishment.

Arrived at hotel checked in all good, then went to visit family got back at 10pm. Then on closer look around the room I'm sorry to say it was terrible. Not what we expected, I didn't want to stay. The room was terribly dusty, in need of a very good clean, dirty mattress under bed, hard mattress and pillows on the bed hardly slept, shockingly dirty windows and frames, the curtains even felt horrible to draw, black grout all in tiles bottom of shower and mould all on ceiling, don't know when skirting boards and bed moved to hoover, never I think. Nobody there at night to speak to about room, its all locked up and closed, we were given a key to get in with so couldn't even ask to change room. Even at breakfast which was not good, everything in that room was thick with dust, would definitely not recommend it. Paid £165 !!!

Lovely gardens, adjacent to burford house, and garden centre. Thought it might be just gardens that are dog friendly, but were told allowed in garden centre as well ? Small entrance fee for garden. Would definitely recommend for an hours wander, and the garden centre looks well stocked

Nice Location good atmosphere but food is not good, if you pay £8.50 for Gazpacho Soup you expect from fresh tomatoes not from tomato paste. Also other food we ordered tasteless.

It's nothing about Italian restaurant ? . Soop Gazpacho for £8.50 taste like tomato pasta from supermarket and its summer season should be fresh. Food is not good at all ?
