What a wonderful gem of a place. Tucked away in a small village. The rooms amazing, breakfast brilliant especially when served by the wonderful Joel. Dinner outstanding. Such a perfect place for relaxing but would also be a perfect location for a small gathering.Look forward to returning.

Charming, spacious, cosy village pub on the edge of the Cotswolds. Serves Hork Norton ales and delicious food. Visited on busy Mothers Day but service was excellent. ?

Wow...what a couple of days we spent here over New Year...this place is just beautiful. The room was perfect...with underfloor and wall heating and an accesible bathroom that was incredible. The food was outstanding and such good value for money especially on NYE..The staff were so very kind and could not do enough for you. Thank you for giving us a great start to 2024

This is our third visit to The George Inn in Barford St Michael and we just love it here. A gorgeous, dog friendly pub consisting of bedrooms in the pub itself and garden rooms too. The rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable (they are extremely warm with under floor heating, which being an unusually mild December, we turned off). The pub is fabulous; complete with a log fire and a great selection of drinks. Since our last visit the back of the establishment has been renovated and is even better than before with ceiling heaters, bi-folding doors and a fabulous new kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. The food is vastly improved from our previous trips (although an addition to the veggie options would be appreciated) and the staff are just delightful, a special shout out to Mattie, the General Manager, who went above and beyond with helpful information of where to visit and helped me enormously with what I could and couldn?t eat, as I?m a coeliac. Can?t wait to book our 4th visit next year!?

Read other reviews about dusty rooms, would have expected this to be rectified. Sadly not, think staff clean rooms out of season. Cobwebs on light fitting, Cobwebs dangling from pictures, weird taste in old cinema posters in room, no wardrobes and kettle had floating limescale. Poor visit and food average.

Had a wonderful family dinner in Nov 2023. Food was excellent and service provided by Mattie and team was outstanding. Will definitely come back.

We walked to The George across muddy fields and had a warm welcome (especially the dog). We enjoyed our roast dinners (Yorkshire puddings were enormous). Generous portions. Would recommend.

One of the nicest pubs in the area and I do enjoy going in, but the food isn't as good as the price suggests and the desserts are ridiculously overpriced! Also please don't automatically add any gratuity to the bill, you shouldn't just assume you've given good service, I'll decide if you should get a tip!!
