The pub is temporarily shut, no idea when they will be open again. Shame as I was really looking forward to the burger or steak. Hopefully another time!??

WARNING: TEMPORARILY CLOSED. We booked a table for Sunday lunch yesterday but got to the pub to find that it was closed, no lights on, no answer at the door. I checked their Facebook page and it showed that they were closing for maintenance for 2 weeks end of January. I tried to report a change in hours on Google so others don't make the same mistake! Please close your booking system temporarily whilst you're closed!

We stopped here for a couple of drinks one afternoon, about a month ago, it was a lovely place, large carpark perfect for our motorhome to be parked up. We decided to come back today, but found out it?s all shut up and closed, hopefully it will reopen in the future.

Pub with no beer. Limited choice. Did not try food. Just one group there at 1630 on a Friday. Very very quiet. Service was prompt given we were the only people there.

A wonderful Sunday lunch, enjoyed by us all. Food was very well presented and delicious. Very friendly atmosphere and all of the team made us feel very welcome, even when we were the last to leave! We will definitely be back.

Had a really delicious Sunday dinner today and have been coming here for years, always happy with the food and service. Was a little disappointed as we asked for some gravy with our meal (as there wasn't much on the plate) and a small jug arrived which cost £1.50 which seemed a bit mean.

I ordered a scallop and mussel starter. Quite expensive but I love scallops and mussels. Unfortunately whilst the scallops were delicious, the mussels were non existent. When I queried this the waitress said the chef had put mussel sauce on the scallops. Well a) there was no sauce on the scallops and b) the menu said creamy mussels not creamy mussel sauce. When queried with the owner she said they would take it off the menu. I was grateful that she didn't charge me for my starter. However I would have preferred to pay and get what I was promised. My husband's chicken terrine was ok but barely more than a mouthful. The roast dinner was ok. Nothing special. The selection of seasonal veg turned out to be a dessertspoonful of cabbage. Very poor. We won't be returning.

We live locally and went because we had been told about the new Menu. The new owners have given the place a lick of paint but otherwise it is still the familiar Fullers pub. The food for dinner is a much more gastro fare now and really good. We had both the Scallop and the Beetroot starters, followed by Gnocchi and the Pork Belly for mains and ate so well we had to share the chocolate delice pudding!.
A really delicious meal, in this lovely country pub. We really liked what the new 'owners' are trying to do and would recommend as the chefs obviously know how to cook. The chatty staff mentioned they are doing a sort of tapas / lite bight lunch menu as well - will pop in to try at some point.
Parking: Ample parking just off the A34

We were staying locally and read up on this place on Google. I had read good things and it absolutely delivered. Lovely food, more gastro pub quality food which is what I love (lovely shiraz too) Service was excellent too. Very small menu but the chef is new so think the plan is to expand it. Recommended!
