Howdens in Bicester couldn't have been more awkward with my builder - they simply didn't want to sell him anything, presumably because he wasn't on their list of approved tradesmen (he is from Leamington not Bicester). EVENTUALLY after a LOT of difficulties, they allowed him to purchase a worktop, by giving him a note allowing him to buy something at the Leamington branch (give them this piece of paper and they'll raise the order there) but he had to travel there to pick it up and bring it back to Bicester. The Leamington branch wasn't much better - they were obviously cross because he arrived about 15 mins before they closed, and having found the item they practically threw it at him and shut their doors. It seems they just don't want to sell their products to anyone other than their pet customers.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Howdens Bicester. The process is deeply flawed, leaving customers with little clarity and accountability. I paid Ark, my carpenter, to purchase and install the wardrobes, but Howdens has refused to address the quality issues or take any responsibility, despite the clear evidence I provided.
The email response I received from Howdens was dismissive and unhelpful. Colin, in particular, was rude and condescending, showing no willingness to resolve the matter. The explanation that the drawings and quotes ?changed many times? is not an excuse?it only highlights the lack of a clear and transparent process.
The wardrobe quality itself is shockingly poor, especially for the price. I purchased a 2-door wardrobe (1.2 meters wide) for
£650 just for materials, and the quality is nowhere near what I expected for that cost. In comparison, the fitted wardrobes I have from Wren are far superior in design, quality, and value for money.The design is very poor and so is the functionality of the wardrobe. Howdens have no experience of fitted wardrobe and customer service.
Howdens prides itself on working with trade accounts, but this approach fails to ensure accountability for the end customer. Additionally, the lack of clear descriptions and reliance on ambiguous drawings leaves too much room for error.
I expected much better from a company of this scale, but this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I wouldn?t recommend Howdens Bicester to anyone looking for high-quality fitted wardrobes or customer service that values the consumer.
Colin did not even care to escalate the matter and would not provide any refund. Howdens have no experience with fitted wardrobes and the whole concept of fitted wardrobe in the design space is just not worth it.

I really appreciate Alan?s help about my kitchen orders . He had given me very good practical advice to help me choose my kitchen . Colins stepped up to help to visit me and draw a design for my kitchen when I wasn?t sure about the size of the units . Honestly I couldn?t get my kitchen done without their help . The staff are really helpful and friendly. The show room is tiny but they have alot of things to see. All of the worktops are there.

Very poor customer service. Delivered 2 standard hinges and two soft close hinges, even though when ordering I ask if everything was on the order that they did on their computer system, especially the soft close hinges, they confirmed. Went to store to get the two missing soft closer hinges to be told that they needed to be paid for which was another £24.00 which I was told included the credit for the wrong ones.Will never purchase from Howdens again. Got 4 hinges via Amazon next day delivery for £14.00 which also shows Howdens is a ripe off. Even the guy in front of me told them to keep one of their cabinet as he could build it cheaper. This is a trade only account.
