My family and I booked a table in advance for the Mothers Day AFTERNOON tea which included an ABBA tribute. We were advised that the afternoon tea was to be one sitting from from 12-2 only and that the afternoon 2-5 was for Sunday LUNCH which seemed a little strange to have afternoon tea before lunch but hey-ho.When we arrived (12.05) there was a very long queue of people out from Reception to the main entrance doors. There were no staff to greet anyone. We stood in the queue and when we eventually arrived at Reception to book in, we were told we had to pay up front. Then we had to take our receipt and show it to a girl on the door to a large room at the back of the hotel, not even two feet away. She looked at it and nodded. We asked the whereabouts of out table and she just pointed to a table in the far corner. The room has over a hundred people in it and you could not even squeeze passed a table., They were packed in so tightly you could not move once seated.I asked about tea and coffee and I was told we had to go back out of the room, queue up again and pour it yourself. What a palaver! The tea was cold and the coffee was dire. The decent coffee machine behind the bar was broken.ABBA were late coming on (2 ladies singing to a backing track) and come three o'clock when they had finished both of their sets, we - and about six other tables - had still not been served our afternoon tea. In over three hours, not one member of staff had made an announcement or spoken to anyone. Disgusting.Everyone was kicking off and people were complaining and asking for their money back. It was absolute chaos. When I left feedback on facebook, they removed me and deleted my comment.Never again.Noteworthy details: The service was awful. No-one had a clue.

Good spacious room and bathroom. Only issue was the taps are not fit to wash your hands as there is no gap. See

Honestly, the service is pretty shocking here and that is unfortunately what makes or breaks a stay for me.The management, most bar and waiting-on staff treated people as though they were a massive inconvenience.I got charged 3 different totals for the exact same round of drinks and just an FYI, they don't tell you that their soda water comes in a bottle which I think is about 100ml and must cost around £3..erm no thanks! The bar area absolutely stank; either because of dirty lines or the glass washer needed cleaning either way - the smell wafted up as far as the reception area and it was vile. The manager (who was working on Saturday the 10th of February) came across as obnoxious and disingenuous and she really needs to get a handle of the staff under her, as most of then didn't have a clue what they were doing. When we left the hotel, we weren't even asked whether we had enjoyed our stay - how are you going to improve if you don't ask for feedback?Their only saving grace was the breakfast which was decent and they catered for gluten free. The young dark haired girl on duty the morning of the 11th of Feb had the world's biggest attitude; likely because she had to do some work but quite frankly, if you don't actually like people, why do a job which requires you to interact with humans? She was dreadful. The room was fine although we did request a quiet room and ours was about 30 yards from a main road ?We won't be back.Oh and one last thing- for the love of God, could someone at Wroxton put up a sign that says 'Reception' because we spent 10 minutes walking around the hotel not having a clue how to get into the place. Very very poor.Food & drinks: Food decent, drink pricing completely inconsistent depending on who serves you.

Comfortable and welcoming hotel, bed was really nice, shower was nice and the only thing that wasn?t nice was the WiFi which you need as mobile networks don?t work out there either!

I was travelling with a party of 22 and we stopped off for a prearranged lunchtime meal. Everything about it was excellent, good welcome, good food, extremely helpful, and even homemade mince pies to take with us!!. Well done Wroxton House Hotel. Shame I done live nearer, you would certainly be getting my custom! Thank You.

Very disappointing experience at what we thought was an established hotel with good reputation. The room we had was poor, very shabby, badly maintained and dirty. The velux blinds were dirty and torn. The bathroom had seen better days and toilet was stained and did not flush properly. On arrival we complained about the dirty bathroom floor, tea tray and filthy bathroom blind. We asked for a different room to be told they were fully booked. Receptionist did not seem bothered but sent a cleaner who dealt with the tray and floor but the filthy blinds were not cleaned. We did not stay for breakfast and will not be returning. Much better experience, cleanliness and welcome at the Premiere Inn.Noteworthy details: Nothing

Great Hotel. The room was very clean and larger than most, good shower over bath. The restaurant was very comfortable and the choice of food available was good . Very nice hotel and location. Would definitely recommend it.

27th September 2023 ...Afternoon Tea for two was very disappointing. Very ordinary and not very tasty sandwich fillings with stodgy cakes and an ungenerous amount of cream and jam for the scones made for a poor experience which was overpriced and not in any way memorable. I do not recommend this afternoon tea to anyone.

Afternoon Tea with Prosecco was a very average experience. The sandwich fillings were uninteresting and one was so bland and tasteless that the content of the filling waa unclear. The cakes were very stodgy and ordinary. The scones were ok but the amount of cream and jam supplied wasn't in any way generous. At £59.95 per couple as advertised through Buyagift it was expensive and disappointing. The Staff were very pleasant but the overall experience left a lot to be desired and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I was booked into this hotel for a two night stay last weekend. I booked through Hotels.com for two people with a small dog.. All conformed and paid for last March. On arrival were informed the dog could not stay as they would not accept dogs. The extremely rude receptionist telephoned the Manager at my request who came back with a £50 additional charge for the dog. So much for not accepting pets, obviously they do but at a price. I asked what this exorbitant amount was for to be told it was for a deep clean as dogs shed hair (Ours does not- she is a miniature poodle) I said I thought every room would have a deep clean between guests especially in these Covid times but received no reply. We are in our 70?s and after a 4 hour drive from Leeds were not even offered a glass of water whilst we tried to find another room. Not easy late on a Friday afternoon in an area we do not know and with poor WiFi. We eventually found somewhere but 40 mins away- very inconvenient as we were attending a family event in Banbury. An extremely unpleasant start to our weekend with staff who were borderline aggressive and very rude. Will steer clear of this hotel for future events. The hotel itself is extremely tired looking so maybe we had a lucky escape- at a price though. As late as the Friday evening the website was still showing as pet friendly but it has been altered now. We would not have booked it if we thought we could not take the dog, obviously.

Just returned from Wroxton Hotel. Food was poor. Humus arrived without anything else. Quality is below average and we weren't the only guests complaining. The whole Hotel is is need of a thorough good clean and updating. Staff are fine but seem to lack much
