A very helpful young man helped my wife , and I on checking out using the new automated system. Unfortunately never made a note of his name.
In the men?s, and household checkout on the first floor.
He showed patience, helpfulness, and was quite charming in his manner., If for no other reason why would you go anywhere else.

Pretty good store as far as the food department goes and in the rare occasion I go clothes shopping there, I've always got what I needed. It's pretty expensive for food compared to other stores, but lots of different items to other supermarkets. The gluten free section is good too.

Large, airy store with a good selection of clothing and food.
The food hall is really good, especially the staff who are very helpful and friendly. I bought a Lion's Mane coffee and the barista saw that I wasn't sure about it's taste and offered to replace it with a normal coffee free of charge. You don't get that service in many places now.

Paula Underdown was the loveliest customer assistant. We were purchasing some post surgery bras today for our mother after surgery yesterday a long day at the hospital. She went to see about a vat exempt for us as she wasnt so sure herself. She went out of her way to go ask her manager to make sure we get the discount and was remorseful of our mother. A lovely patient lady i hope she gets some recognition for her efforts and kindness. Thank you Paula!

Plenty of free parking. Large shop, but it's early August and we wanted some summer cloths for our holiday, it seems they have moved onto winter cloths already. The prices seem very high now, but i don't get out too much these days due to ilness, so perhaps I'm just beh8nd the times.
Will we return = Yes, mainly for the food.

Sorry, but the foodhall needs serious changes made to it. Out of date products all over the place. Untrained staff stocking the shelf's putting fresh coleslaw in front of the old stock. No wonder stuff's out of date. Doesn't M & S have area supervisors that periodically audit check stores for good management? Stopped going there until they improve?

This review is just for the foodhall which I think needs a mention. We've always shopped there and up until recently no compliants. But recently so much of the products have 1 or maybe 2 days shelf life. We're shopping for 4 to 5 days like most people. We go there to feel pampered. Paying a bit extra is ok as long as you feel you're gaining an advantage shopping somewhere. We're going to try Waitrose for the reasons above. I hope they get their act together soon. We would like to go back there.
